I like Homeland but I think it's going to start getting into 24 territory of unrealistic plots and stuff

Agree. That's why I stopped after Season1. It doesn't have a story that can continue past Season1. It's going to plummet if they make it into a long series.

Season 2 did a decent job but... HOMELAND SPOILERS BELOW With the ending of all those people dying, Carrie helping Brody escape while everyone thinks he's the one who did it. They can probably stretch a Season out of it but I already don't like the whole Carrie betraying her country for Brody angle, unless he dies or something and they go in a whole new plot direction after this season I don't see how they'll continue without some crazy unrealistic plot stuff happening.

I like Homeland but to say its better than the wire is ridiculous. As others have pointed out, the 2nd season could have been something out of 24. The performances are what elevate the material to me. But IMO its nowhere near the Wire and far from Breaking Bad.

Damn, I didn't realize Morena Baccarin is only 33. I thought she was older.

Just watched Homeland S1&S2 marathon style. Where are the plot holes in S2?

I'm a big fan of Homeland, but my rankings would be Wire > BB > Homeland

Every episode, great show. I just think Breaking Bad is better. It pulls you in and forces you to be in Walts shoes, especially for male viewers. How for would you go to take of your own? Its either me or them, its not going to be me. I think its an incredible meditation on being a man.

Breaking Bad is a great show, but not better than the Wire IMO. Breaking Bad has too many coincidences that are just too hard to believe and detract from the story.

Although Homeland and Breaking Bad are still works in progress, I’m probably going against the grain to say I think Homeland is number one, at least through two seasons in comparison. A lot of people say The Wire stands alone and there are no comparisons to this show, but I actually think Homeland and The Wire are a lot alike. At times, it seems like Homeland is The Wire on steroids. They both have a parallel between the “good guys” and the “bad guys” where you find in both shows corruption on both sides. Obviously, the wire-tapping and video surveillance are also key in both series. And, in comparison to Breaking Bad, I will say both shows (Homeland and Breaking Bad) are very hard to predict. It seems as though the writers are unique in their stream of consciousnesses. I may amend this when Breaking Bad finishes up, but it’s so hard to end a series in classic fashion. But then again if a show can do it, Breaking Bad may just fascinate us all. Don’t get me wrong, The Wire is currently my second all-time favorite series, I’m just leaning toward Homeland now as number one in comparison to the first two series of both shows. And Breaking Bad is right in there. Actually they are all real close, but that's how I'd rank them. The only things I didn’t like about Homeland was it was a little sappy at times and Carrie sure does whine a lot. I understand that goes with her character, though. As far as the sects scenes goes, Homeland is tops. I didn’t realize Brody’s wife is Morena Baccarin from Firefly. WOW! I’d have to say Firefly is still in my top 5, too. I do need to watch Game of Thrones. That’s probably next for me. What say you about ranking Homeland against the Wire and Breaking Bad and why. And where do you put the series Homeland in your all-time top rankings
I disagree. But you better get outta here before its too late.

The Wire Season 5 > Homeland Season 1 and/or 2 Season 5 obviously being the weakest of the series.
