Can you PC guys please remember that this is a console and not a PC? We all know PC's are wonderful and probably created God before God created man, but let's keep the console part in perspective.
Can someone look at that dev kit and tell me how that compares to what we play on now?

Okay, good. We all understand this. We don't need PC teraflop measuring. For a new console, let's assume that dev kit is 60% accurate. Let's say it's a place to start saying "Hey, these new consoles are ____ compared to current gen, if this is true."

the ONLY thing I can tell so far from all of the "rumors" we have seen to this day is:
The wiiU will actually be able to play a bunch of games from the new gen, I just don't see as big of a leap, and the WiiU should be able to keep up.

couple of things, dirty console playing peasant:
a) Richland, the second gen of piledriver (aka 3rd gen of bulldozer) drops in june 2013 for APUs. that will make the PS4 APU two full gens old compared to what a master race could get. Oh and another release coming in 2014.
b) if the console is CPU and not APU as rumored, Steamroller drops Q1 2014, just a few months after the PS4.
either way, PS4 is old tech at maximum 6 months after release

True but I still believe the PS4 will have some form of APU(s). Yes maybe 2 on the PCB.
Those rumors just all seemed to come from extremely strong sources. Let me find the older articles.

He was saying that the WiiU that is out now could play a lot of the next gen PS4 games if these hardwar specs were true. In other words the next gen would only be slightly more powerful than the current WiiU.
I don't know the specs of the WiiU to know if this is the case.

Console = iPhone
PC = Android
One has to use technology currently available to produce the product. If they wait the damn thing would never get released.
The other product gets a new technology (phone) every 17 hours so of course they're going to have the "better" product.
But, just because its available doesn't mean everybody has it. At least with a console everybody is on the same level while your "rig" could be absolute shite to someone else.

In a way you are right. 3months is a refresh cycle but you do not need to upgrade every 3months. It isn't that big of a deal.
