I don't like this argument much. The bottom line is that we have to beat Alabama. All the SOS arguments go out the window if we can't beat the team that matters. We can lose one of those other games (UGA or UF) as long as we beat Bama. If we swapped out UGA or UF with a weaker east opponent, guess what, we still have to beat Bama. I'll take the schedule with more quality teams on it as it makes for a hell of a season (2011).

You are right and Bama has to beat us, but if you don't think playing an easier schedule helps than there is no reasoning with you. They play Tenn & UK this year both rebuilding with new coaches. Do you actually think those will be tough games for Bama? Do you actually think those games will take a mental and physical toll on them? Switch our UF & UGA games with them and doesn't it look a little easier to think of possibly getting to the SEC Championship.

Love it don't complain, keep things the status quo meanwhile the Gumps laugh their asses off while USC, UGA, UF & LSU beat themselves up.

No one but us remembers that season because they only thing in people's minds is the 21-0 blowout.

LSU did beat Alabama in 2011

LSU did not lose any games and beat Alabama in 2011

LSU beat them all and played an extra game in 2011

So who won the BCSCG? The team with the weaker SOS and the team that played one less game. Looks like people are seeing the reality of CF.

SOS matters. If LSU played Alabama's schedule and only had to get up for one or two games, including the Bama game, it would be LSU and Miles getting the accolades for being a "Dynasty". Just look at last year. During the regular season, Alabama had one rough spot on their schedule, LSU followed by A&M at home. They should have lost to LSU, limped back to Tuscaloosa banged up, but undefeated, then lost the following week to A&M.

Meanwhile, LSU piled up the injuries playing A&M and Florida on the road and Washington and South Carolina in TS. And before any of you knock Washington, I would have taken UW over Michigan on a neutral field all day long.

It's exactly like the argument against Boise State. It's easier to beat the one big team on your schedule if you don't have to do it week in and week out.

This is an argument that on the surface sounds good until you consider the facts which the schedules are.

If we beat Bama & lose to UF and UGA and they win all of their other "rent-a-wins" we stay home and watch them play UF or UGA or USC for the first time and if we win the West, we get to play one of those same tough teams AGAIN!!! Really??

Anyone that says that is a level playing field is flat wrong!

We beat Bama before and they were given another chance in the title game. That was BS.
