Bleacher Report just put out a report on the top 50 toughest schedules for 2013, LSU is number 5 on the list but what is truly interesting is that 13 of the 14 SEC teams made the list with the only team not to make the list THE GUMPS.
I guess you can look at that two ways;
1. They are so far head and shoulders better than everyone that no matter who they play it will not be tough for them.
or
2. The a**holes in Birmingham really are helping the Tide as much as they possibly can.
What a crock of sh*t to let those guys in Birmingham get away with this scheduling bullsh*t. And shame on the entire conference Presidents and AD's for allowing this to happen.
If anyone doesn't think that those a**holes in Birmingham did just pave a road for Bama right to another BCS title game, then open your eyes this is a crock of sh*t.

I don't like this argument much. The bottom line is that we have to beat Alabama. All the SOS arguments go out the window if we can't beat the team that matters. We can lose one of those other games (UGA or UF) as long as we beat Bama. If we swapped out UGA or UF with a weaker east opponent, guess what, we still have to beat Bama. I'll take the schedule with more quality teams on it as it makes for a hell of a season (2011).

I think if you dont play a tough schedule you shouldn't be able to qualify for the BCS Championship. Why isnt there a process in place to regulate this?
LSU and SEC schools in general are constantly falling below other conferences in the rankings because we are forced to play and beat each other. While other teams skate by with a great record due to low competition.

the SEC should do their scheduling like the NFL. If you win the conference, the next year you should have a tough schedule. At least I think that's how they do it. I realize that the SEC schedule is made in advance, but they could try something like that.

Arkansas' is by far the toughest looking and Cal shouldn't be top 30, they have the gall to put those weak as teams on the list of who they need to beat... Cal is BS!!!!

Playing a weak schedule can hurt a team as much as help it.

In 2010 6 teams had off weeks before playing us.

i think you should hire an attorney, go to Birmingham and tell them about our woeful schedule. Maybe the attorney can scare them into changing the schedule...maybe give us troy, north texas state, towson...northwestern
