It's pretty cool over here on the northshore...not sure if your results will be the same...

sorry no pics...none of my camera's(or photography abilities) could show the effect...

Had a big ring around it. I've heard that means a heavy frost. We shall see in the morning.

Lunar Halo is what it's known as... according to the OT. It happened about a month ago, also.

What'd you have to do to capture that?

I've got an excellent DSLR and other cameras, but couldn't catch that...

Beautiful picture, Wick! Oldtimers here say to count the number of stars you can see inside the ring and you'll have a snow within that same number of days.

I am not that good with the camera, Nikon D90, with a 11-16 mm lens, shot at 11 mm, f/2.8 with an 8 second exposure, on a tripod.
