If these next gen consoles don't run at 120hz or 1440p, I will be disappoint

How big of a difference between 1080p and 1440p is there?

If people want PC gaming to evolve past console bottlenecks then they need to support the industry
Exactly. The support isn't there for major projects outside of few titles. There's a reason why you we have a dilution of genres and games from publishers, there have been over a dozen large companies gone bankrupt.

It said it would run everything at 1080P at 60FPS
That may be true, but developers will most likely choose to beef up the eye candy over high framerates. Pretty graphics sells, and the average console gamer isn't bothered by 30fps. Most don't know about or understand framerate.

This article is from June? Lately i've even heard "rumors" of a solid state drive in the PS4, but like someone said they have to meet price points. No way you're going to get more than 4 G of DDR5 and a SSD for under $399 or whatever they plan to sell them @

It's a big difference. Like the sort of difference in resolution between original iphone and iphone 4s
quote:
1440p is a newer resolution of high-definition television and movies, referring to the resolution of the picture itself. The number 1440 refers to the vertical resolution of the picture, indicating 1440 pixels in the vertical axis. This is understood to be combined with the standard 16:9 aspect ratio of high-definition television, indicating a horizontal resolution of 2560. This yields an overall pixel count of 3,686,400 pixels for a television in 1440p resolution, substantially higher than the 2,073,600 pixels found on a 1080p television.
