I wouldn't buy the saber tooth. The only really attractive thing about it is the warranty. By the time u get close to making it worth while it will be time to move to a new socket. In other words I would only buy the saber tooth if u were gonna get a 2011 chip. I bought a 3570k with an as rock z77 extreme 4. It overclocks well enough and is pretty inexpensive. Ask around as others have bought asrocks and been pleased with them. I have a gtx 670 and it runs everything on ultra. A 660ti would be fine too as would a 680. I know you are buying a 850w psu so that he can sli if he needs to but I wouldn't spend that much. For instance I went to bestbuy and got a 850w thermal take semi modular psu for 90 dollars. Buy a decent one by all means but u really don't need to dump 170 into one unless you are most definitely needing super high efficiency, silence, or definitely going to water cool and sli. If u want a well made case look into fractal, cooler master, or corsair. I love my fractal define r4 and u can buy it with a window.

I meant to add a could in there *You COULD always add an SSD. Puff, Seasonic is the best PSU bar none, and I have a 650w in my build now and plan to put 850w in my next one. I think it's well worth it

If you have the money to spend on it, why not?

Between those 2? The 7970, and it's not close at all Edit: The 7950 and 670 are on par while the 7970 and 680 are on par

I'm about done with my build and I'm trying to keep it as close to $1,000 as possible. The Sapphire 7970 is $369 and the PNY 670 is $299. Worth the upgrade?

Are you using a 1920x1080 monitor? If you are I'd just go with the 670 since it would be cheaper to SLI in the future

I haven't heard good things about the WD green drives... I'd get the seagate barracuda or a samsung. Everything else is good to go! EDIT: I'd go with the MSI lightning 7970 over a reference 680

well there is an extra $40 in wiggle room so that could be changed out. it will just be a data storage drive anyways. i have all my steam files stored on a 5400 rpm 2 TB drive and havent had any performance issues

Check out my edit. Got a better mobo and cooler in there. It would be about $50 cheaper if he bought from multiple places
