Things that should go away in sports.

-Prevent defenses: just play what got you there in the first place
-Icing the kicker ( I find this concept stupid, and see kickers miss the iced kick all the time and make the second one)
-DH rule (just make both sides abide by the same rule, don't care which way it goes)
-NBA Travelling (needs to be rewritten as its hardly ever called when it should be)
-Hockey Fighting (I have no problem with it, but have no clue how its just openly allowed especially in this day of "protect the player")

Shot clock - I want to see the old 4-corners stall schemes again. Masterful.

Announcers referring to players as singular objects. Billick did it yesterday: "that's a hard catch to make even if you're a Roddy White." For god's sake, someone's name doesn't have to be quantified.

I debated saying 3 pt line but its become a part of the game and requires skill. The same may be said about the DH rule except its not for both leagues.
I personally think a pitcher should have to bat and risk getting hit back for an intentional beaning. Either way make it a rule everyone must follow.

On that note, the idea of "<insert team> just wanted it more and that's why they won". One team may have played harder, schemed better, etc... But very rarely does one team want it more.

I would like to see the basket raised in the NBA.
Also, I have emailed the NBA my idea but never got a response. What about a 'high flyer' competition during NBA All-Star weekend with a basket that raises a few inches each round. See who can jam the highest rim. (like a high jump contest)... Or does this suck?

quote:The proper way to ice the kicker, if you have more than one time out, is to use the first time out early enough that the kicker doesn't actually kick the ball. Then you use your second one in the same fashion (assuming you have 3 timeouts). Then you leave the kicker wondering if you are going to call the third timeout, but you don't do it.

FWIW, I think this was what PC was trying to do yesterday and is why he was mad that they snapped the ball and kicked it well after the timeout was called.

Fewer timeouts per team in a NBA game.
In addition, getting to inbound the ball at half court after a timeout at the end of NBA games.

This, along with the fact that the players who have made it to "star status" never get called for fouls, or anything, is the reason that I have stopped watching Basketball. It is as fake to me as the old Mid-South Wrestling was!

College basketball needs to shorten it's shot clock. 35 seconds is just too damn long.

I like your high flyer idea a lot.

I think it's against the rules to call two consecutive timeouts. Not sure why though. Its under unsportsmanlike conduct.
-also get rid of that unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing the challenge on a play that is booth reviewed. It's stupid. Just have the red day "don't worry coach, this ones on us." How hard is it to just tell the coach it's not necessary in this situation.

When a DB gets beat and the WR drops the ball and then acts like they were the reason for the incompletion.

one of the funniest things I have seen in sports
I was working a curtis game years ago... playoffs.. they are up 40 something to nothing late.. rainy muddy night...
LB for losing team was popping off since he got off the bus.... and got his arse kicked until the "clean" patriots came in....
qb gets blasted by him.. he jumps up.. yeah yeah yeah. I kicked his arse.. i kicked his arse.. qb.. flips me the ball... looks at him and says... Hey number 44... look at the score board... btw... I am only in the 9th grade...

My god this. This has always made me cringe.
The drew breeses of the league, the tom bradys of the league.
No there's only one of each of them.
