Opinion of the man is not very telling. Like some have said, players hated Bertman but respected his coaching ability, Les...not so much

one who i am close with mentions things like 'free reign' when talking about the offense. talks about how the talent won miles a ton of games earl yin his career at LSU. loves him as a man but desires more as a gameday coach, particularly with the offense.

It's always awesome that the guys on here that incessantly trash miles seem to be friends with players that don't respect miles. Ok

Cameron Vaughn was bitter every time I met him. He hated Saban and Miles. He was also mad that they didn't put him on the front of the fricking media guide his senior year and let Bonnette know it.

I'd say confused. 2012 regular season calmed a lot of concerns the ex-players had, especially those who played for Saban. Everything since has reinforced what most IMO believed... that he's holding us back on the offensive side.

As a man, Bertman could be a huge dick. None of his players ever questioned his coaching philosophy. There is a huge difference.

My point is...some players hate the coach and I'm sure coaches don't care for some of their players. In the grand scheme...it doesn't fricking matter.

They go to the game, they tailgate, but they don't spend hours on message boards and they don't dissect everything that happens with the program. In a way, you could say they have a healthier attitude about it than most of us
The ones I know (80's players) have a major case of the lulz with Miles post 2007.

...unless it suits your argument... You're so biased it really is impossible to have the simplest of conversations with you. And this past week or so you've really stepped your game up.

Playing for LSU doesn't make you a life long, die-hard LSU fan. The ones that bled purple -n-gold before they got there continue to do so after they leave. The ones that see LSU as an avenue to get a free education and into the NFL tend to be indifferent after leaving and maybe even while they are playing. Knowing a player after the fact doesn't mean you know why they fall in either category. I know a bunch of former players, most are my age or older (45-65) and they represent the full spectrum. The ones that grew up around here are full retard LSU fans, others aren't.

Ok...then explain to me how it matters, Professor. The greatest coaches in history have been hated and disrespected. Same goes for players

You hit the nail on the head. That is why depression and anger was rampant well after 1/9/12. If one's self-esteem and happiness depends on the actions of 18-22 year olds, then you need to examine your life to see what is truly missing.

I didn't say it did or didn't matter. The OP asked a question & obviously many are interested in the subject. I feel that a clarification should be made b/t how they feel about said coach as a person and how they view his coaching abilities. (that's just my opinion, but to each his own) But just like every other subject on this board, the Gestapo knows what's best for everyone else. Just look at this thread alone. You're upset and disagree that the question is even asked (much less the answers to the questions). Why do you hang out here so much if clearly the simpletons are so beneath you and the sheer volume of stupidity angers you to no end? The number of your threads complaining about any number of viewpoints surely rivals any "nega-turd." The thing is that I'm sure you could probably bring some sort of true discourse if you tried (isn't that what a msg board should be?). But you're so bitter.

" ... a walk on, never really played , hated CLM ... " *************************************************** .. why hate the coach - he got to walk on didn't he ? .. With nearly 100 players I doubt the Head Coach has much time for "walk on" relation building ... maybe a position coach , but shite man , c'mon man ...

I thought this thread was about players that played FOR Miles. Those players you know are just fans like you now.

I know a handful. Knew one really well. He played for Saban and Miles. He said it was night and day. Saban walked around chewing people out in practice. Was always on top of every aspect of the game. He said Miles didnt give a frick what you did in practice. Half the time he didn't really know what was going on.

That's how we know you are full of shite. Miles has been widely criticized for being too tough in practice. Thanks for playing.
