With all this talk about gun control and such....What's the rule on open carry/concealed carry of a taser?

I'm sure someone's figured out how to make non-lethal....lethal.

I wonder how they would work on hogs for trapping purposes. They will buy live ones around here but I am not thrilled about getting in the trap with those nasty mean bastards.

Crappy tasers = fun
Real tasers = not fun

I have personally tested both so TIFWIW

I wouldn't ever want to come across a hog with only a taser. It probably wouldn't even go into their skin

Apparently you can have them and can use them in any situation you're legally allowed to throw a punch. If you're a 110lb girl that could be a lot. If you're 6' 6" 275 prolly won't get to use it a whole lot. This is my understanding but somebody could correct me...

Yeah I'd like to know the answer too..but I don't want one that you have to get up close and personal..I want the one that shoots the "darts"...stand-off weapon of 25 yards or so.

No way 25 yard tasers exist. If so, that would be awesome.

Try it and report back. This was discussed at the camp the other night.

Doubt it would do shite to a big one, but ya never know.

the absolute funnest part of trapping hogs is wrestling them and tieing them up. We put a rope on the ground and snatch it up when one puts his back leg over it, then set one around his neck too so we can stretch them out and ease them one at the time out the gate. Then we flip them and get after it. Love a truck full of them squeeling

Pulling a taser in a dangerous situation sounds like a good way to get shot to me. Someone pulls anything that looks like a gun on me when things are scetchy and Im shooting their arse so I dont get killed.

i have a buddy that is an expert with the Taser in Louisiana....here is our communication:

my question
Bein a taser expert, I have a crazy question......

We often trap hogs at the camp, transfer them to the farm and fatten them for a later cochon delait.

What are the chances a taser would work on a pig? Im thinkin the skin may be a little too tough for it to penetrate.....

An if it would work, do you know if it is illegal?

his response
quote:

Well the probes don't have to penetrate the skin for the effect. However, both probes have to stay in contact with the surface for the effect. So if the probes hit the skin and fall off there is no effect. As far as illegal I would say standard rules of cruelty to animals would apply.

Something I've always been fearful of is the reality of gangstas/hardcore criminal types using tasers to rob folks . I mean how much driven easier would it be for them to just walk up behind you and hit you with a shot . As you lay paralyzed on the ground they rob you of your wallet, phone, etc and you never get a look at them

Scary thought if you ask me
