The mindset you just posted is why there hasn't been enough innovation in this sector. "This is the way is has to be" is a terrible excuse.

I'm going back to rabbit ears; $1200 a year for cable and internet is ridiculous for a decent package.

It is ridiculous. I agree. But, any industry that has spent billions of dollars in infrastructure isn't going to lay down and watch their revenues trickle away. The truth is, for the forseeable future, I don't see any game changing or cost saving methods for the masses.

The tech savy and money conscious, sure, for the time being, but the the family of 4 in the suburbs where the wife wants to watch her HGTV, and E channel, and the kids are watching Disney, fox, and Nickelodeon...won't be saving money any time soon IMO.

I did that 3 years ago. I don't miss cable at all.

I'm at $2000/mo but I really don't want to sacrifice the convenience of just turning on the cable box.
