Boise State staying in MWC

Boise State will remain a member of the Mountain West Conference and will not join the Big East in 2013, sources told ESPN on Monday.
The Broncos' decision on Monday is the latest crippling blow to the Big East Conference, which has had 14 schools announce they were leaving the league in the past two years.
The Aztecs have repeatedly said they are fully committed to the Big East. Yet with Boise State remaining in the Mountain West, the Aztecs' Big East contract allows them to withdraw from the Big East without paying an exit fee if there is not another Big East member located west of the Rocky Mountains.

This is a good thing. SDSU needs to pull out now as well. Though I did like the idea of SDSU's other sports going to the Big West, keeping everything in the MWC is a better move. That conference can gain some legs and become a pretty good conference year in, year out.

If Houston and SMU go to the MWC, probably.
Uconn and cinci won't be there long either.

What if UConn got denied the ACC again and had to go some unthinkable route like Temple and UMass have taken in the past, football in the MAC, A10 for everything else.
It actually fits, but I doubt they would ever go for it.

I agree, it is a logical pairing, provided the A10 doesn't get raided by the new Pontifical league. But after all the money they have sunk into football that'd be a bitter pill to swallow.

Big East may want to go ahead and sign up Idaho.

If you're going to be the big fish in the little pond, might as well stick with the little pond that you know.
