Yes I know about audioslave. But a lot of people liked Rage and I hated the singer so much I couldn't even listen the music. Audioslave fixed that problem.

Don't all the singers in the OP have high voices?

Is that the secret weapon?

Prince would have made all the difference in Milli Vanilli.

This thread has me shaking my head. I would hate this fantasy world where every band sounds like Pearl Jam.

love AC/DC and i liked the move to a similar voice. you can't really replace scott, but johnson is pretty goddamn close.

i can't imagine the group with a different style of singer.

I wish BOC had found better singers than Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma. I think the band's stature would've been much greater with a highly distinctive voice suitable to their songs.

I agree with this. Unfortunately, I doubt you get the music collective aspect of BOC with a dedicated singer, so you can never tell. Vocals were definitely the biggest weakness for them, though.

While we are replacing Zach de la Rocha from RATM we might as well replace Thom Yorke from radiohead, wtf.

How bout Liam Gallahger from Oasis.

Some people do not belong on the music board.

For the most part I agree that a different sounding voice helps a band, but I gotta say that I can't stand Geddy Lee from Rush. Anytime I hear them I immediately change the station.

Also, it usually worked out pretty well, but to be honest Jimi Hendrix is not much of a singer, maybe the Jimi Hendrix Experience would have been even better with someone more talented as a singer.
