To inject...or not inject. That is the question.

Do you inject your turkey before frying? I did one time and hated it. My BIL who thinks he knows everything disagrees.
I marinate mine in Italian dressing, Crystal hot sauce, chopped garlic, Tony's and cayenne pepper. About 12-16 hour soak and she's ready to go.

Inject and use a rub similar to yours.

Brine it. By far the best turkey I've eaten.

My wife is baking one now that she brined last night. It is really good. So are you saying you can brine it then fry it?

I always inject before frying

Yes, you can brine and fry. You can brine, inject, and fry. I find the key to injecting is to use a butter based injection, do it the day before, and then refrigerate. The butter will re solidify and then the hot grease will "sear" the outside of the bird before the injection melts and runs out.
I do butter, dijon mustard, worchestershire, cajun seasoning, garlic powder, white wine.
Honestly, I'm about over fried turkey. Have brined and roasted or smoked for the last few holidays.

Negative. Season well and do it up.

I used to do the same thing, but now I am starting to leave the injecting part out. I found that you needed to inject with backing because the bird got so dry. Not with frying.

I will brine my next turkey to try it out. I have heard nothing but positives.
On a side note, I have a huge 12lb brisket all rubbed down in the fridge ready to throw on the smoker after church tomorrow.

You should always brine your bird, whether you inject or not.

Inject!!! I use liquid butter and tony's to inject and rub inside n out with tony's before frying. This is damn good. And fry in peanut oil.

Too much water in the turkey brining for frying. I let them sit out for a half hour to dry and inject hot sauce in the breasts and legs, slap white pepper and brown suger rub after rubbing down with 3 pts evoo & 1 pt honey.

Cook a honey glazed ham...frick the turkey. I've never cooked ONE.
