I've only heard good things about Bookers. I may go that route. All good suggestions in this thread though....well except for the person who suggested wild turkey
Bookers is legit but strap in, It'll whip your arse if not careful.

Thats the one bourbon I plan on really splurging on this holiday season.

I will be sick to my stomach if I spend $100 on a bottle and its comparable to what I can buy for $25.

Blantons is my go to holiday bourbon. No too much to feel guilty about rolling through, but enough to warrant the premium.

I love me some Blantons. And you're right, it's wayyyy easier to spend $45, instead of $100.

For those who have had Jefferson 18, just how much better does it taste over something like Blantons?

Different styles. I find Blanton's to be oh so smooth, while the Jefferson PS 18 has more punch, like Pappy does. Whether it is worth double the cost of the Blanton's is strictly a matter of taste. I liked it enough to have bought 3 bottles of it in the past 2 years, but then again, I was massaging my hurt feelings from largely being shut out of the Pappy chase.

Me either. That's why mrs jack tells me to drink that one the nights she's working so she doesn't have to deal with me.

What's y'all opinion on this stuff? I almost scooped some up at rouses tonight but wanted some reviews first.

I mix mine with Keith whitley which leads to more whiskey drinking.

Can't help. I see it every time I pick up bourbon, but haven't talked myself in to a bottle because I've never read much in to it.

I was drinking it at the loft a few weeks ago and ordered my 3rd. Server walked away and I thought to myself...oh this gon be a bad idea. Caught the server and switched back to makers.

Bourbon: Knob Creek or Bookers. Maker's is swill.

Whiskey: Can't go wrong with Jameson's

As an above poster mentioned, it's different tastes. Jefferson 18 is a wheated bourbon from the Pappy Van Winkle mash. It tastes very similar to the PVW and it's got some similarities b/w the 15 and 20 year likely b/c it's pretty much the same whiskey just bottled at 17 and 18 years. Blanton's is a fine bourbon and very smooth and great in it's own rite. For something different, you won't be disappointed in the Jefferson 18 and it's cheaper than PVW and much easier to get. If you look through my old posts, I've done reviews of the PVW 15, Jefferson 18 and PVW 20 side by side. Below is a recent review of the Jefferson 18 by a site I look at frequently for reviews. Happy Drinking!

Also, have you tried Rock Hill Farms? It's made by Buffalo Trace from the same mash as Blanton's but likely a little older and stronger. Great stuff!
