Mad Men. Does Pete get any better or is he always a douche?

I've just about finished season 1. He's the only one that stands out as a jerk. Makes me hate him. Trying too hard.

He doesn't get any better...however...through the course of the series my hate for him has dimmed. He is actually one of the more interesting characters to me now.

I can't stand the actor who plays Pete. He was horrible in Angel, and he's horrible in this show. Guy seems like an extremely uncharismatic, whiny, spineless person IRL which carries over to his characters

Pete becomes likable in season 4, then unlikable again in season 5
ETA: Pete is very much Don's little brother in the series, emulating Draper as much as possible even if it's not what he hopes it to feel like.

The only likable ones I can think of are Ken Cosgrove, Burt Cooper and Peggy (sometimes)

What! Roger Sterling is the best damn character on the show. He banged Joan on the regular for years, his second wife was mighty fine, he's the biggest drinker out of the crew and 80% of what he says is hilarious. Plus, he was the first character to try LSD. He's my hero! Don's the one who is kind of an a-hole.

My two cents on Pete: he's never satisfied, and continually feels like he's being slighted. His character get's a bit more bearable when he gains more confidence and stops crying, but he's forever a sniveling brat.

I don't think Roger could be that badass being a nice guy. He's a true a-hole. Which helps him with his Badassery.
