Leonard won, but it was close. The early rounds were key.

The fight was bought by Leonard and Nevada. There is no way a champ should have been forced to give so many concessions (ring size, rounds, etc). Haggler landed bigger blows but Leonard did his last 30 SEC thing to win rounds. I blame the Petrocelli's for not telling Hagler to go lefty sooner. He was able to switch mid round, but only would do it on their suggestion. That fight and the Holmes Spinks rematch made me really question boxing. Larry Holmes was a man who was never given respect deserved. His left jab was devastating and he fought anyone and everyone the public wanted to see him fight.

The main problem I have with the PAC/mayweather talks is people only seem to look at one side. Yes counter punchers give PAC some trouble, but at the same time. Mayweather has seemed most vulnerable to the brawlers he has fought. I think PAC would've beat Floyd years ago. I haven't seen that PAC in awhile before tonight. Manny looked like he was about to finish Marquez then 1 punch later he's out.

Freddie Roach never wanted this fight, he was saying all along his guy had nothing to prove and a losing proposition because PAC had to win by KO or it was tainted.

Mayweather is this generations Leonard. He got big fights in a locale that would make sure he wouldn't lose. Mayweather never fought anyone that was a real challenge legitimately. Duran was Leonard's PAC MAN, and we saw what happened in Montreal.
Leonard got a rematch against Duran six months later in New Orleans and embarrassed him. Also, he lost a close fight to Duran in Montreal by fighting Duran's fight. He tried to be the aggressor instead of using his slick boxing style to out-box him.

Duran took a dive in NOLA. Leonard got embarrassed in Montreal. Other than those two fights he never fought big fights out of Vegas. Leonard never lost a decision in Vegas, he should've lost the Hearns and Hagler fights for sure.

He did not get embarrassed. I watched that entire fight and it was very close especially after the first few rounds. The fight was fought at Duran's pace and Duran was in control but the fight was extremely competitive and Leonard landed plenty of shots. Hearns gave Leonard a lot more problems than Duran ever did.

Duran was brutal to the body in Montreal. He took Leonard's will away. As much I think Leonard was given fights his knockout of Hearns was legit. Tommy Heans probably was the most talented one of that generation in terms of having skill power etc. but he would never listen. He runs from Hagler in that fight in Rd 3 it doesn't go 4, they stop it. If Manny doesn't choke he probably wins Leonard I. But Leonard had a warriors heart that night.

Ahhhh the transitional property Only works for the retards who want to talk about how mayweather dominated jmm, and this would dominate Pac Too bad mayweather was too busy running from Pac to fight him. Would've been a good show 3 years ago.

Why would he be happy? The purse of a Floyd/manny fight would have been incredible. People are estimating both lost around $50M each with the loss last night.

Please explain to me why Floyd Mayweather would be SCARED of Manny Pacquiao??????? And don't give me this "Pacquiao would kill him BS". Styles make fights and everyone with a boxing IQ of 2 understands this. The matchup is terrible for Pacquiao. He and Bob Arum know this which is why they NEVER went after the Mayweather fight. They saw that he struggled against Marquez and they understood that Marquez isn't 1/3 of the fighter that Floyd is. Floyd and his team put an offer on the table.....Bob Arum and Pacquiao dodged it. This is well documented.

Your only argument as to why mayweather wasn't scared of pac is because of JMM? Get that bull shite out of here. With that being said, I doubt he was "scared." But, he definitely did just about everything he could to make that fight not happen. You can draw whatever conclusions you want.

Mayweather and his team made several offers to pacquiao and arum and every time they were turned down. From a pure boxing standpoint Mayweather would beat Pacquiao. Most people will never admit it because they hate Mayweather, but he is one of the greatest boxers ever.
