Can't speak for the other tigers, but LSU fighting tigers come from the Louisiana fighting tigers of the civil war who served the confederacy under Robert E Lee and the army of northern Virginia. Seems like more of a connection than just picking a pig. Those things are everywhere

I've never seen a wild boar in my time in Arkansas. Thankfully it was a short period of time.
