I'd say that hire worked out.
Over-inflated??
We playin the SEC. Louisiana produces as much NFL talent per capita as anywhere in the country. Lsu's academic standards aren't as prohibitive as Stanford. Lsu pays more.
Let me break it down for u:
Better conference
Better talent
Better money
Better chance to win it all
Sounds like you have a personal problem with us. Facts are clear.

Nope, the last two LSU hires have been from second fiddle programs in their respective states - Okie State and Michigan State.

Please explain this?

So your next hire will be Dan Mullen.
Gotcha.
Good Luck with that.

Not that I advocate the formula, but yeah Mullen's name (if he is still around) would be in the mix. Hard to argue the decade plus success of the Saban /Miles combination. By the way, none of the names referenced in earlier posts actually excite you

No, but I'm not a fan of a stepping stone program that has to settle for a coach.

Do you feel like Arkansas is a destination job?

I'm sorry that arky hasn't been able to beak through and win the SEC, I know it hurts. Lower your expectations, you'll never be a top tier power. You just don't have enough talent in that suck hole and you never will. Miles wasn't dumb enough to take that no-win situation.
High expectations + lesser talent =. Eventual spiral into shite. Petrino knew it, he subconsciously wanted to crash that scooter to get the hell out.

Isn't there enough evidence?
Two coaches have quit in the middle of the NFL season.
We've had others leave major schools.
Now we have one who is leaving after 3 straight BCS/Rose Bowls.

If Petrino wasn't hittin that blonde, he would have left in a NY second.

LSU needs to be realistic about the level of program they are.
With 2 BSC trophies and a trip to the Big Game last year, I know what kind of program LSU has.
Your comment is comical...especially since Baylor hasn't won anything.

Sure, the last time the LSU job was open, you hired a coach with a record barely above .500 in the weak big12.
Les Miles' record at Okie St. was pretty great. He had a 57% winning percentage which was the best win percentage at that program for a coach who had been there for at least two season since 1933.
Miles had a better record than Jimmie Johnson and PAt Jones (who had Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas). Miles, relative to his program, had a terrific track record at OSU.
Bielesma has a good resume, but he strikes me as a win the press conference, not the hire kind of coaching hire. I'd rather have Kirby Smart, for example. But I think Arkansas wanted a BCS coach more than anything, so they got one. But I think his weakness as a recruiter is a real concern.

I would be pretty disappointed with that hire for lsu
LOL, after Saban left you hired Les Miles from Okie State with a barely above .500 record and you're telling me you wouldn't be happy with a guy coming off 3 straight BCS bowls?
Give me a fricking break

It takes a lot for me to be impressed with new hires. You never know how a guy will work out in a new school, conference, part of the nation, etc. Look at RR at Michigan. People prognosticated he was going to light it up at Michigan based on his resume. We all know how that ended.
As far as Bielema, we'll see. I certainly wouldn't berate the guy just based on his resume nor would I anoint him the second coming of Bear Bryant. Once he hoists the SEC trophy for Arky, then we'll talk. I will say this: if he's already complained about Urban Meyer and his recruiting at OSU, he better get ready because he just entered the lion's den.
