My brother hit a doe this morning on the way to the camp and called me to help him load it in his truck.
We was closer to his house so we brought it back there to clean it.
His wife was mortified that we would pick up "roadkill"!
What say you?....pick it up or leave it for the yotes?

I totally agree! I can't understand why anyone would leave free meat to waste.

pick it up. I was riding 4 wheelers one time and saw a deer get hit. After we made sure everyone was alright the guy asked me if i wanted it. It was a yearling, and I knew it would be beat up, but that poor deer got hit at about 65 mph. It was so tore up, it busted the gut sack and broke almost every bone in its body. Makes me think twice now before picking them up now

As long as the legs can be moved 6 inches it's good to go, I picked up 6 deer off of the side of the road last year
eta: I was kidding, but wick's rule of thumb is the way to go

Hilarious. This same scenario happened to Mung this morning. Turns out my swingset makes a great skinning rack for a yurling.
