it's hard to make chicken and dumplings without chicken

that being said, when I lived with my parents, we had turkey dumplings every year on the weekend after thanksgiving

It is smelling really good. Hubs is sick and wanted chicken and dumplings but I did not want to cook chicken with all the turkey already left over.

I used biscuits. It is very good.

I will give you my cheater recipe that the guys in my family love but don't tell the F&D people because they will freak out.

Simmered turkey (cut up/deboned) in chicken stock then added two cans cream of chicken and one can of cream of mushroom. Dropped two cans cheap pillsbury biscuits into it (broken/pulled into small pieces) while it was on a heavy simmer/low boil. Simmer for about 20-30 minutes. The whole thing took less than an hour and almost no effort and my son who is sick and son who has soccer practice will think it is great.

Let the crucification begin.

I made chicken and dumplings tonight too, and made dumplings for the first time. Easy as it can be and really tasty. Just used Pioneer baking mix and the recipe on the back of it, which is 3:1 mix to milk. Rolled them out and used a pizza cutter to cut into 1" squares

Hit the spot, been craving chicken and dumplings for a while
