So I should leave it open rather than put something to help it clot up?

Yea but all the cowboys do this when getting bullets pulled out
You'll need a shot of it also before you begin

Leave it open just keep it clean, you want it to drain. And after double checking, better give that LA 200 IM (in the muscle) versus under skin. Sorry for the long wait, ill take 10% off my fee.

Appreciate it man. I was going to put cut n heal on it which would have clotted it up.

I hate doing this shite. I always end up stabbing myself and giving myself shots and all kinds of bad stuff. Flopping dogs are hard to work on

Glad to help out.

Flopping dogs are better than biting scratching cats. You can usually get a topical anesthetic to numb that area before you stick it at any drug store. Or just hold some ice on there for a while. Good luck!

People who are tracking deer often say "with all this blood, it's got to be dead close. It's running out of blood." Scoop the horns outta some stuff and you learn how much blood critters really can loose without dying.

Holy hell that is a bloody mess. It is unbelievable how much they bleed.

If it was a cat I'd just shoot it. I couldn't be a small animal vet just because I hate cats.

You should post here more. There's always somebody here with some type of dog problems.

My parent's lab had a big abscess on his neck before. My dad is a vet so he was able to drain it and everything. He never knew exactly what made it do that but he thinks it was a spider bite. That freakin thing got huge!

I have had experience with this and it is likely that a wild oat has gotten in the dogs mouth and has migrated back behind the tongue and will likely work on out and will likely drain out after it works out and will heal oits own. If all.has not cleared up within a week take the dog to vet who will lance it. Good luck to,you!

My dog had something like that on his tail. It got progressively worse over a week or two and I had to take him to the vet to get it cut off. It made his tail bend all out of shape, but it is almost like new now

I'm off tomorrow, so I guess I'll bring her to the vet. Pops talked me out of lancing it myself. Kinda upset about it.

Think they'll give me a quote before they do it? The dog isn't worth a $1000 vet bill.

Oh yeah, it ain't going to be that bad, even if they have to do surgery, we use Luikhart right down the road, she just looked at the tumor on ours and reccomened surgery, no charge visit, then With surgery with blood work and pathology report, and post op meds, for under $400

She might not be worth $400. That's a whole lotta cash for a broke college kid
