C'mon man, you're better than this. You watch Florida play right, or USCe, or GA, or Kan st or Texas, or (any team here)? You watch them lay an egg against some over matched team right. Happens dozens of time every weekend. You've see this right. We don't have the market cornered on this Take off your blinders and watch ALL the teams and ALL the games. Life will be easier for you.

The way the SEC is right now, we can have 10-2 seasons every year, and still play in the Chicken Bowl. Times have changed. We last made the Chick bowl with a 7-5 record. We pay $4 mil for that?
Ok, I'll be gentle with you little one. Every year stands alone and each is unique. Just because 10-2 was only good enough for the peach bowl this year doesn't automatically mean thats what happens next year. In 2004 Aub went 12-0 and didn't make the BCSNCG. 3 years later LSU went 11-2 and got in. Teams change, schedules change and circumstances change. Patience grasshopper, it will be our turn again soon.

You still dont get it. You post just like Miles' coaches, very naively. There are now two more SEC teams (and maybe more on the way) that can have 10+ win seasons, Only 2 can get BCS bids; therefore, LSU keeps getting knocked further down the food chain due to its pathetic style of play in the eyes of voters and selection committees

I don't understand. We have only 3 NCs in over 50 years, and fans expect one every 2 years now? I think its ridiculous and embarrassing that people want to fire our coach with 10 win seasons. I haven't checked, do Texas fans want Mack brown gone? Lots of great coaches don't win the championship every year, but keep the team competitive. I mean shit, we start in the top 10 year in and year out.

Ok..since you asked nice...played some, coached some, fancy myself a student of the game. I think I can be objective, I try to learn from those who know more than me. I read extensively, both strategic docs coaching philosophies, and national pundits that have interesting perspectives. I focus on LSU games mostly, I DVR each game and watch it several times. I focus on individual players and try to grade each as best I can without benefit of knowing each plays intention and scheme. I watch many other teams too, but mostly just to compare what others are doing schematically and watching how the game is trending nationally. Don't get too caught up in me saying all that "I'm the smartest" stuff, thats just what I do to amuse myself when sparring with those on here that get to taking things a little to seriously. At the end of the day, this is an irrelavant and insignificant little internet forum that is for personal amusment only. We can't solve any problems here, we can't influence any outcomes, we can only pontificate on what we observe. Hope that helps.

LOL...I'm naive? Dude, last year we were 13-1 and played in the BCSNCG. This year we are 10-2. So are you saying that this years outcome means we are on a permanent downward spiral. If so then wouldn't last years record have meant we were on a permanent UPWARD spiral. Please take at least one extra minute of thinking before your next post.

And oh by the way, the whole "lsuexpert" thing was meant to be very tongue in cheek. The one thing that really sets people off is arrogance, which leads to more amusement for me! Its a character flaw of mine, I get way too much amusment out of tormenting people.

To me this is like the Charlie Mac years only this time around he has 2 sec titles and Mac had 1. Seems to be a trend. Until we can line up and beat Bama say 2 out of next 3 years it is what it is.

God i love these negatiger fan threads, they are so much fun. Let me get my two cents in and say So it finally caught up to Miles to some extent. Having to rely on other temas to lose just to get to BCS bowl
I guess you dont watch much tv as you missed the loss of Oregon and K State which gave Saban the opportunity to control his fate to get into the BCS Championship game after losing to a freshan QB.

Couldn't you have made your point just as well by just calling him a "cum sucker"? Did you really have to add the "idiot"?

The OP's post hits the nail squarely on the head. There are 124 FBS teams and maybe 30 that have a legitimate chance to win the BCS Championship any given year. LSU will be ranked in the top ten this year, and with some help may go to a BCS game. The rest of the country is getting tired of the SEC so I wouldn't count on it. Want to complain about LSU? Watch games from the 90's playing the Gators, or Bear kicking our arse almost every year in the 70's, hell even Ole Piss gave us a good game back in their day and helped create a legend in Billy Cannon's epic run. Is LSU going to win the BCS Championship every year? Of course not, but I admire the effort, time, blood sweat and tears our players and coaches expend working to be the best they can. LSU goes 10-2 in the toughest league in the country and apparently that isn't good enough for TD's many anonymous coaching experts. I suppose that's part of the appeal of anonymity, criticizing every mistake big or small. On the other hand, there are many who post intelligently, without degrading the coaches and players. I've learned some things about the complexity of the game from them. LSU is in it's Golden Age of football, and win or lose I'm going to enjoy while it lasts.

Nick Saban isn't winning at Alabama cuz he has better schemes and manages the game better or manages the clock better or is smarter than everyone else.
Not correct. Smarter? I don't think so, but probably more willing (now) to adapt and change to fit the talent and opponent. I promise you he would like to run it every play if he thought he could win that way. 1/9/12 is evidence that a change/better offensive game plan separated two teams that were very equal in talent, conditioning and desire (evidenced by 11/6/11 results). He is winning now because he has opened up his offense and has decided to not always put the burden of winning games solely on his D and special teams alone. I don't want Saban back! He is a a-hole as a person. But somewhere along the way, he woke up to the need to evolve his offensive strategy. I just hope Les does the same soon.
