It's becoming overkill, but zombies resonate with people and they've become part of the current zeitgeist.

Zombies are a faceless metaphor for most of our current fears; economic fears, the feeling of desperation and the hope for optimism through adversity. They man represent more than one thing for most people.

I think the reason zombies are more popular is because it requires less suspension of disbelief. Virus, biological engineering/weaponry, etc.... Seems a little more plausible than vampires, werewolves, and ghosts.

This is why I was really looking forward to World War Z.

But, if the trailer is any indication, they fricked it up.

Yes, although it is a hell of a lot more tolerable than the vampire craze that has recently dwindled out.

Near Dark and 30 Days of Night Vampires are better than any Zombies.

Zombies are mindless and get you because you frick up.

Vampires hunt. They manipulate. They are by far more dangerous.

I wish this version of vampires would gain more traction.

Plus everyone dies and will end up a corpse. No one ever takes a first step to being a vampire. And zombies create worlds of decay and survival. And people can shoot em up and destroy them with out feeling bad about it--when else can a guy open up on humanoids with machine guns? All those reasons I think.

Zombie's suck. Zombieland and I am Legend were both good movies, though.

pretty much Zombies, Vampires (real ones, not twilight), werewolves are the classic sci fi horror movie creatures, so umm deal with it.

Dear god this stuff is getting old

Yeah, it's pretty old. It's been popular for a while now.

Ive never seen something get so played out in the past few years.

It sucks having a good quality show like The Walking Dead on TV. Guess you could just stop watching zombie stuff if you didn't like it. It's not hard to ignore.

My buddy said there is a guy he works with that truly believes there is going to be a zombie attach/epidemic/ect one day. Like forreal forreal. Is that why it has a huge appeal, a lot of people truly believe some of this stuff is actually going to happen?

Yeah, that's why it's popular. We are all just awaiting the inevitable walking corpse to attack us

I can recommend dozens of authors that would change your mind on this, but I doubt you've even seriously read anything horror other than Stephen King

I'm a zombie fan and a vampire fan. But both have just gotten really over saturated as of late. Fortunately a lot of the new garbage hasn't changed my opinion of either because I still love some Romano and Bram Stoker.

Not a zombie movie, or zombie book (in case you didn't know it was a book)
