Put it on a hook and head to the nearest pond.

Should I kill it with fire?

Attach it to double sided tape then tape it under a door handle.

The lo Moth Caterpillar A superbly colored North American moth, the Io, has a truly lovely caterpillar that, as it develops, turns from orange to bright green, gaining hairy spines in the process. Looks, once again are deceiving, because the spines, on being touched, release a poison that causes a great deal of pain. It has a favourite food in the rose, so be aware if you have roses in your garden.

Some of those caterpillars really are beautiful (no homo), but damn I sure would hate to have one fall down inside my waders or something.

I touched a caterpillar accidentally as a kid (reached my hand around a tree) and thought I had caught my hand on fire. Hurt badly for hours and had pain for days afterwards.
