Does he really want anyone giving his team the eyeball test???

The latest BCS standings have Florida State (9-1) ranked 10th, behind three two-loss teams. The average computer ranking, which accounts for one-third of the BCS formula, has Florida State 16th, including two computer polls that do not rank the Seminoles at all.

Even under the old system, FSU wouldn't be sitting pretty. They are 6th, 6th, and 10th in the polls. FSU would need all the other front-runners to lose 2 games.
Besides, Jimbo had one, ONE JOB. GO undefeated in one of the weakest conferences this year. You take care of business at NC State, and this doesn't matter.
That part is kind of odd though. I'm sure it has to do with replacing WV with an Savannah St. Presumably it will get a big boost if they beat Florida.

The rankings need to be more objective not less. An "eyeball" test is just silly and will produce even more biased results. The "eyeball" test is basically one guy's gut feeling/opinion (in other words, a guess) on which team would beat another. I'd rather they go to an all computer ranking.

if they used the eye test this year his team would still be out in the cold. The ACC is a terrible conference. Those first two FSU games against Murray St. and Savanna St. were a joke.

eye-ball test = ranking teams based on how you "feel" about a team, a feeling which inherently is rife with bias, rather than simply comparing teams based on their resume.

FSU, much like Oklahoma st last year, is not going to be able to overcome an "ugly" loss.
Especially with the schedule they've played... FSU had a nice clean path to Miami and bungled it up by losing to NCState, and now they are paying the price for that "nice clean path."
