ETA: Insiders were wrong, we are not going to get this bid or be a finalist. Our best shot is for 2018.

According to Jarrett Bell of USA Today, the league’s Super Bowl Advisory Committee will recommend New Orleans and Miami as potential hosts of Super Bowl L (or 50 if you’re sufficiently removed from third grade and have forgotten your Roman numerals).

Brees would be what like 37?

Maybe we can draft some defensive players that will be coming into their prime...

Not writing off this year whatsoever, but we still have a shot at hosting and playing in the superbowl if we get the bid.

I think they put SB 50 on hold due to the significance of the game. If LA has their stadium in place by then, it might be held there. I can see the NFL waiving the rule that the host team have a team in place. Although LA might have a team in place by then.

I am going to have to disagree. I don't think LA has a shot for this one. Also, they are voting on Tuesday(I am assuming next tuesday). I assume they could postpone the vote, but I feel even if they do we will be one of the two finalists. Unless Goodell tells everyone to take us off the ballot.

Owners, holding their fall meetings on Tuesday, will vote to narrow the competition to two finalists, with the game expected to be awarded at subsequent meetings in 2013.

Fortunately the owners vote and not Godell. I could see ole Benson trying to get the sympathy vote. "Hey boys, Commish screwed me, now make it up and give me that bowl".

One of the local guys said SB 50 is supposed to be the same weekend as Mardi Gras. Not sure if it could work.

Feb 9, 2016 is Mardi Gras

Why would we bid if its a conflict?

Becasue we ask for it this time (but don't insist) and get turned down. Then when we ask next time we insist and say you've already overlooked us once.
Damn, don't people know how to ask for things.

frick it make them change the date of the superbowl.

O and that date is tentative regardless, was reading the NOLA.COM article and who knows they might have an 18 game schedule by then.

Would be great to get that game, but for now I'm just loving the fact that Jerry Jones got totally denied.

Serves him right after the debacle of SB 45.

If he ever did this, and strangely enough i can imagine him doing it in the name of "growing the game", I'll hunt him down myself.

Going to the Super bowl is as $$$$$ as it gets for the family members and other fans. Having it in London would just make this entire process absurd. They canNOT ever do that, seriously

ESPN/SI/NBC/FOX/CBS/NATO/UNCF/NAACP/MAAD might all hate the Saints, but they love coming to NOLA for the Superbowl. Even Peter King has said his favorite place to attend the game is in NOLA.
