Where is the outrage direct? Because he has high calorie foods? The Chicken and eggplant Parmesan at Copelands has 3100 Calories, I don't see anyone up in arms over that.
Well copelands is quite disgusting as we'll.
I don't have a problem with high calorie foods if its good. Having to fry fries more to hold the bucket of buffalo sauce poured on top of it is not good

That article was fricking ridiculous. What a nonsensical, jealous hatchet job.
I don't particularly love Guy...he dresses like a tool, the hair definitely isn't for me, and I think his schtick is over the top. I used to dig what he cooked on his show, but I haven't seen him cook anything I'd make in a LONG time. But he's hard to dislike...he seems like a nice guy, he makes the places he goes to famous, he's obviously a great business man, and he's a self made guy. I read that the only food personalities/chefs that made more than he did last year were Rachel Ray and Gordon Ramsey.
And I much prefer Bourdain.

I love how people think guy is in to promoting mom and pop restaurants. Guy won a reality show to get on food network and they then have him a shitty cooking show which no one watched then realized he would be better as a character so they send him off to eat at mom and pops. If anyone thinks guy's agenda is to promote small business you are pretty naive

Yeah. It's his job to promote mom and pop places
Not like he is some dude like Thomas Keller who is helping promote local business
I work in construction management and could really care less about anything that gets built ever

would you happen to have a personal involvement? just curious..

He's so into mom and pops that he's open some enormous 500 seat restaurant in Times Square. He's all about the little people and promoting good food

I enjoy good food
Posted on 10/8/12 at 9:22 pm to TigerPhan27
and he's somehow keeping you from getting or enjoying good food?

You seem like a miserable turd. I'm glad you associate your sporty arse with Tulane.

Regardless of what he does as a restaurateur, he made it as a celebrity by doing what Food Network asked him to do and that was go see small places. None of these places he has been too would ever have been noticed beyond their local neighborhood and he shows up , national exposure and people flock to them. And I, who enjoys good food as well, would seek out and eat at probably 80% of the places he goes to and would never know about them unless I lived in the neighborhood.
His opening a restaurant in Times Square has nothing to do with this.

Mr. Fieri’s taglines are scrawled on the wall. “Welcome 2 Flavortown” is written in large type above the hostess stand. A mammoth reproduction of one of Mr. Fieri’s tattoos, featuring Botticelli’s Venus with “Namaste” written above it and “Morgan,” the name of Mr. Fieri’s deceased sister, below, hangs next to the bar.
This almost reads like something from the onion

I am not sure how that effects "mom and pops" restaurants.

And? It's a tourist spot. People go there to get familiar food. If you want something else, there are plenty of places elsewhere. You sound like you're more upset with what people want.

He does plenty to promote the local restaurants on his show. Just because he's not turning down a boat load of money, I'm not gonna hold that against him.

I am upset with what people want, but I'm not so sure that its really want they want or it's all they know because its shoved down their throats

You understand he didn't create the show? They pay him and he goes where they tell him and says what they him right?
