City could have lost 6-1. Hart is a fricking beast. Luck is a good thing. Dortmund were spectacular.

Good I agree / past his prime / on the bench on a mid table epl team / good Joe hart is in the top tier, there's no good argument against that. Also besides that damn flop jenkinson has been one of the best gunners this year, it's amazing. 2. Wtf ref? 3. #ramseydeathwatch

Whatever Hart is getting paid, they should double it after that game. Dortmund really dominated City pretty hard (although I bet Randy disagrees).Really shitty to lose a lead on a penalty. Mario Goetze is going to have nightmares about Hart blocking his shots. Still a good result for BVB to get a draw away from home. On a side note Man City fans were embarrassed by BVB fans today.

Just watched an abbreviated version of the City match. City were lucky to get the point. That was one of the most generous penalties I have ever seen. However, Balotelli made the most of it (that stutter step of his is going to come back to haunt him some day). And WTF is up with leaving Lescott on the bench? Has Mancini seen what happens when Lescott sits? eta: this was the worst 11,000th post ever.

Not the way he does it. He watches the keeper the entire time, never stops his motion and hits it to the opposite corner.

I'm not sure... wasnt Mancini forced out of Inter, after 3 straight league titles, for shitting the bed in Europe?

Not really. Did they play better and create more chances? Obviously. What I disagree with is that they somehow "deserved" it more which one of the go to soccer terms I hate. Creating chances is only half the battle, taking them is what's important. Dortmund didn't and then they left themselves vulnerable to to the unlucky break at the end. Which, imo, was not a bad call at all even though it was very unfortunate. However, again, if your arms aren't clumsily out away from your body that call doesn't happen.

I hate to say it, but MCFC could do much worse than Rafa Benitez... He has done very well in Europe as a manager and with the resources from the owners, would contend in the league, too...

I guess I was completely wrong about City/Dortmund. I didn't recall the thread title but a few days ago said I thought City wouldn't have that much trouble getting through this group. Dortmund looked really good. Their finishing wasn't sharp but they were extremely impressive in their pure effort and hustle together as a complete team. The strategy to flood the midpitch and keep the ball from Silva's and Nasri's feet and make Garcia/Rodwell the guys that have to break you down with accurate longer balls is only as good as your attacking players willingness to run like crazy for 90 minutes. It also reveals that, so far, Garcia/Rodwell don't really pass any better than De Jong with the huge downgrade of not having De Jong's ability to free other players though destroying counter attacks. That Toure looked like he was hardly at 50% fitness, walking and limping around made it even more effective.

DeJong is >>>>>>>>>>>> Garcia + Rodwell. Disturbing that we did not resign him

And where does that put De Gea? There's an obvious reason why Lloris isn't the full-time starter at Spurs yet, and it doesn't have to do with his talent.

1) it's a response to Tn Bhoy, C'mon. 2) You rate Lloris above Hart?
