i put this in another thread but I think it deserves its own thread
LSU has an almost perfect split of run yards (229) and pass yards (203) per game and LSU is 5-0 and people want to bitch?
LSU is #33 in net yards per game
LSU is #95 in passing yards per game
LSU is #18 in rushing yards per game
LSU is converting 44% of their 3rd downs
LSU is scoring 39ppg
Since we measure our dicks versus Alabama let's compare:
Alabama rushing yards per game: 188 (LSU 229)
Alabama passing yards per game: 234 (LSU 203)
Alabama scoring per game: 40.2 (LSU 39.0)
Alabama yards per game: 401 (LSU 433)
McCarron is in his third year in the program, 2nd year as a starter and he has completed 322/487 career attempts (66%) with a 162.2 quarterback rating.
McCarron was sacked 13 times last year and 10 times so far this year.
McCarron has 12 TD tosses this year, and he had 16 total last year.
McCarron has a YPC average of 9.00 on 73 completions (111 attempts) for 999 yards
Mccarron has zero INTs in 2012
Mett has five starts in his second year in the program.
He is 86/130 in career attempts (66%) with a 150.5 QBR as a starter.
Mett has 11 sacks this year.
Mett has 6 TD tosses this year
Mett has a YPC avg of 8.54 on 78 completions (119 attempts) for 1016 yards
Mett has 2 INTs in 2012

Well the stats don't lie...
LSU must be better than Bama and Mett is clearly having a better season than AJ.

Similar.. and if your WR's could catch consistently Mett would be around 70% completion.

McCarron has been really impressive with ball security. Both QBs can make the throws, but Mett has issues with pocket awareness and tries to fit too many passes in tight windows. He needs to correct that quickly or Bama will beat us thanks to turnovers.

No the point is that Mett has been serviceable, and the sky is not falling yet. If the teams puts everything together they will keep winning.

sure don't….
didn't see the fumbles lost category…. is that omitted from the game of football now?

Sadly, there is no statistic for lack of momentum in your team's overall play.

Alot do, but the intelligent ones will just criticize the offense. You cannot tell me that there aren't glaring issues that need to be corrected if we want to go to Miami, many dealing with the passing game.
And for the record, we had a same type of thread as this last year with far better offensive numbers and then we proceeded to get shutout on 1/9

perception is reality, right?
perception is McCarron is an emerging Heisman candidate with a 17-1 career starting record and a BCSNC under his belt. He also has some nice tall WRs that make plays. he has one of the best OLs in the country in front of him, but they have given up 10 sacks
Mett is 5-0 but:
he looks shaky at times
makes bad decisions
can have poor pocket awareness
the OL is a mess
however when you look at the numbers, McCarron may not be as great or Mett may not be as bad as perception would indicate. i would say Mett is probably further along after 5 starts than mcCarron was after five starts. mett is being asked to do WAY more in LSU's offense than McCarron was at this time last year. Mett is producing relatively equivalent (6 less TD passes/2 more INTs) to that of McCarron but Mccarron has the benefit of 13 more starts under his belt.

the sky is not falling ye
and no one (contrary to what everyone wants to think) is saying it is…. being concerned and not seeing progress being made and voicing THAT opinion, is much, MUCH different than declaring the death of LSU football, as so many of you want project…

If
big word….. they may turn it around…. they may not… from what we've heard and seen THUS FAR, there is nothing credible that would lead ME to believe the rest of the season will look much different than what we've seen already….. that's MY opinion based on MY observation…. you make your own conclusion, but don't tell other how "negative" they are when they are clearly tolerable of your "rosy" outlook….

nor will you…. that wouldn't portray Mett in quite the light that the OP was looking for, serving the incessant need for validation for Mett as our starting QB…

where did anyone say otherwise? a football team is a work in progress. sometimes that work turns out good, sometimes it turns out bad

they play championships at the end of the season for a reason. BAMA got better, LSU got worse
The point is, LSU is not as bad as we may think, BAMA is not as good as we may think and until we have more evidence (games played) we really don't know what the 2012 LSU football team or Mett are going to be.

YEEEaaaa those 6 TD's and 2 INt's don't matter at ALL!! MEtt is so equal to McCarron.

Doesn't matter.
Cowherd said Bama will roll LSU.
