We did just practical stuff.

As others mentioned he is really great on gun safety and he really does a great job at making it clear of how big a responsibility it is to carry a firearm.

He also goes into great detail in the classroom period of the course. Explains the difference between different types of hand guns, and does a GREAT job explaining the legal side of things.

I knew a lot of about firearms before I took his class, what I did not know about was some of the legal things he taught us.

There are now things I know to say in the event that I have to use lethal force. Things you wouldn't think make a huge difference but they do, especially in court.

For starters, he told a class of novice shooters that if you had 16 rounds in your gun you keep shooting until they were dead. Not a good idea. You shoot until the threat is over. He also said you didn't have the right to shoot someone in your home if they were just there to steal something. A lot of the things he said weren't so much wrong, but rather his poor speaking skills prevented him from getting his point across. Loomis gets his point across very clearly and you leave there confident in what was presented to you.

I'm sure the other guy is very nice, I just feel he may be abusing the cc class to sale ammo and firearms to the students.

If I remember correctly it started at 8:00 or 8:30. We took a lunch break from 11:30-1:00. I think we were finished by 3:00.

I took it with Gary and Jeremy Morrow with To-Morrow weapons out of Pineville. The class was 8.5 hrs. we shot 50 rounds but anyone who wanted to shoot some more could stay and shoot. They were pretty in depth with the class.

For those that are nervous about people not shooting much or not teaching, how about getting a VA out of state online. No shooting, no class, just a 25 question quiz and you're off to the races.

BS!

They did the class at the Woodworth shooting range. I don't know where they are located but I will find out when we get home.
