Cuts are in

The following Saints players were placed on reserve/injured: RB Joe Banyard, S Jose Gumbs, CB Marquis Johnson & WR Nick Toon.
Saints waived: DeOnt’ae Pannell, T Aderious Simmons, WR Andy Tanner, C/G Matt Tennant, LB Lawrence Wilson DE Braylon Broughton, LB Ezra Butler, QB Sean Canfield, DE Alex Daniels, TE Michael Higgins, CB Nick Hixson, S Jerico Nelson
Saints terminated the contracts of the following veteran players: WR Greg Camarillo, K John Kasay & TE Derek Schouman
The following Saints players were placed on the reserve/suspended list: LB Ramon Humber and DE Will Smith

I didn't think Higgins would make it.
No surprises there, really but that can't be all the cuts right?
If nobody claims these guys they will be on our practice squad??? How does that work?
I'd think we could possible need Kasay or Tennant if the injury bug hits starters.
Who is our backup Center anyway if Tennant isn't there?

I was surprised about Higgins as well. And all the LBs being cut.
Hope a few guys such as Tanner, Broughton, LB Wilson, LB #46 Anderson, S Nelson , etc, make the practice squad.
Is Higgins still eligible for practice squad?
I'm ok with Toon getting IR'ed. He will get a redshirt year and we will be fine at WR this year without him.
I'm upset about Marquis Johnson though. I also think he had that 4th CB spot locked up. Any CBS out there? I saw Drayton Florence was cut. He would be an expensive 4thCB but would be an upgrade. Not my favorite choice though. Any other names?
