Looking for lively, upscale places to eat while getting together with some old college friends. We all appreciate good wine and food - not looking for a bar scene (Most of us are married, in our thirties, not looking to meet men, etc). Any little-known gems out there ?

Thanks !

I love Vintij, but mainly for lunch. The atmosphere is just not what I'm looking for with a dinner crowd. I really, really wish it wasn't in a strip mall. But the food is very good :)

What are some good restaurants there - other than Popee's (sp?) - their food is terrible. But that could make for a good night, lots of drunk dancing at Hammerheads and Rum Runners !!!

I wanted to do Bistro Bijou this summer but. It doesn't take credit. Since I don't carry a ton of cash, it missed my business.

i've never tried it and want to. i've been relatively unimpressed with most of the baytown restaurants--not bad, just ok.

to the OP, if you want another good one but in a better location try beach walk cafe (now at henderson park inn)

With 10 it may take awhile to seat you. If they ask for a name say "Donner." Then, when they're ready they'll call out "Donner Party of 10"

Bistro bijoux for sure.
I would also venture down 98 to fish out of water.
Best place in the area

Coater, the original chef/owner of Beach Walk is the chef/owner of Cuvee. It's a very good joint.
