This is somewhat plausible, but Kobe was right up there with Duncan during that period. I'm not sure who I'd go with.

That's a good list too. Lebron and Kobe were pretty close from 06-09 as well but Lebron's overall game was better IMO. Either way you have a good argument with that list.

He won one title with Pau and Bynum. Lebron won one scoring title, one MVP, and made one final with Boobie Gibson as his second best player. Resumes are pretty similar. Just comes down to who you think was a better player

NO. He is NOT. He is the BIGGEST racist in the history of sports writing.
Weird since he argues against black athletes more than any writer, white or black.

As for the article, Whitlock always writes in an over the top style that get attention, but underneath it all, his underlying point is pretty sound.

This one is silly though.

Bill russell is very much on Jordan's level. Michael is the best basketball player ever, but to say the greatest team player of all time and 11 time champ isn't on his level.......silly.
That opinion is a product of the 90's-2000's media.

No no he doesn't.

Kobe plays for a world class organization in the Lakers franchise. When you have superstar such as Kobe your job is to surround him with talent year in and out. That's how you win championships.

You could maybe give Kobe 06 that was the year he average 35 points a game. But I think the second round of the playoffs when Lebron dragged an absolutely dreadful Cleveland team 7 games against Detroit proves it was Lebron.

But 07 and after was clearly Lebron

No, it's a product of knowing Russell played when there was like 8 or 10 teams only and Russells teams and supporting casts were laughably good compared to the rest of the league.

It's a product of understanding the difference of the times back then.

Go look up the 76er teams with Wilt he was playing with 3 other HOFers. Not to mention in Russell's last year he also beat vastly superior Knicks and Laker teams

Whitlock's only argument is Shaq...everyone else in history has played with other really good players like Gasol and Howard.

Magic had an aging Kareem...Bird had Chief and McHale...Jordan had the worst supporting cast but had Pippin who well...was really good his lone year w/o Jordan (3rd MVP voting) but an overrated bum in Portland.

Nobody else had the most dominant player in the game like Kobe had with Shaq. Like Wade has now. If anyone is living off of food stamps for the near future collecting rings, it would be Dwayne Wade.

He has had a couple silly premises lately IMO.

This one, his stance on Serenea's dance, and his Christian Lattener column all have been out there.

The Laettner one would have been fine if he would have gotten one person to go on record even unnamed. Instead it was all they say it off the record and during poker games BS.

I'm surprised whitlock didn't try to blame it on racism some how, that's the status quo with him

You know how I know you're retarded?

Jordan = All star/HOF material
Horace Grant = All Star PF/C Legit 15/10 player
BJ Armstrong = All Star and and all time top 10 NBA three point shooter
Scottie Pippen = All star/HOF material, one of the best ever
Dennis Rodman = All star/HOF Material, one of the best rebounders, defenders ever
Kukoc = 6th man of the year, best euro at the time and a 6'10 forward
Kerr = Best three point shooter in the NBA at the time (5 time champion) and most accurate three point shooter in NBA history
Harper = A 20 ppg scorer coming off the bench in his prime

As I already said, Whitlock is more critical of black athletes regarding race than ANY other journalist out there, white or black. It's really not even close.

How he gets labeled as the most racist blah blah blah is really telling.
