God there are some idiots on here. JoePa is not the police. He reported it to his superiors and then went about his business. Last I checked, he was not in law enforcement. He reported what he knew and went on doing what his job was: Coaching football.
What do people want the old arse man to do? Drag Sandusky to jail himself? I also love the idiots who say "well if I was in the same position I would have... bull shite bull shite bull shite and more bull shite." You have no idea what you would have done in the situation at the time without the privilege of hindsight.
Again, what the hell do you expect Jay to say? ESPN probably called him up before this came out and wanted his comments on it. Of course the guy is going to defend his father. His father wasn't the one molesting kids. His father wasn't the one who led the cover-up. Sure Joe isn't absolved of any wrong doing, but damn, people are acting like he was raping kids too and telling the cops to deal with it. This guy could barely walk around the sidelines of the stadium and you want to crucify him for crap he didn't do.

I cant imagine anyone having a tougher year then Jay Paterno, that being said, I would think he would want to go no comment and try to move on with his life. Focusing on the thing that destroyed your dad, destroyed the institution you've devoted your life to and left you without a job probably cant be healthy
