Not sure if any of y'all are on or near LSU's campus but I thought I would pass this along. I went by Tuesday and yesterday and they had grass fed beef loins for $8 a lb and tenderloin for 10. Along with a beef tongue (I bought one on a limb) and two hearts . It's frozen and there wasn't a bunch left but I imagine that there aren't a lot of people who can take advantage of this sale. They also had a lot of good looking pork as well as lots of lamb (shoulders, legs, shanks) and goat racks. The meat has been great in the past.

I bought some goat there a month or so ago. It was good meat. It's just kind of a bitch kitty to get there, because parking is so horrible on campus.

Hey Fratastic, how do you clean the beef tongue? My mom used to cook tongue often and I remember her scrapping the outer layer off but I never really watched how she did it. She would stuff it with garlic like stuffing a roast then cook it in red gravy or sometimes cook it in a stew with onions, garlic, potatos, and carrots. Seems like she may have boiled it for a little while to make cleaning it easier then scrapped the layer off. Any idea?

You have to boil the shite out of it to get the taste buds and shite off.... then you cook it like a roast. Good stuff actually. Last time i had it was at the Bicycle Shop in Mobile.... had the tongue tacos
pretty funny reading tongue tacos after you type it
