Won't have the cap space, unless Dwight plans on signing for like 1 mil a year

If they S&T Lopez for $10 - $12 million just add Brooks and some filler and they can trade for Dwight.

I know you hate Dwight, but I'm about 1000% certain the Nets want him.

Wouldn't surprise me if Deron said no to Brooklyn.

I don't see how the Nets without Howard is any more enticing than him going home to play for Dallas

The supporting cast in Dallas isn't much better than he's had in Jersey or his last year in Utah and Dirk's starting to really wear down.

Being the hometown hero may hold some appeal but I think the losing is getting to him.

Hawks traded Joe for a whole bunch of nothing players, but got some financial breathing room over the next 4 years

Doesn't work like that.

The first year of a new contract is counted differently from the actual salary for trade purposes for this exact reason.

where does that say they don't WANT him? they've probably just exhausted every trade avenue for getting him and are moving on. but if the Magic were to suddenly agree to a deal, they'd drop everything and do it.

$24.9 won't look good when they are 20-62

They're now major FA players next season, as every player they've gotten can be cut loose at the end of this year with no financial penalty.

Hell, they may be able to swap some of these misfit toys for roleplayers to support a team built around Horford.

Teague
that a-hole from Vandy
Marvin
Smoove
Al

isn't a horrible lineup, and it gets pretty exciting if they were to get a true center. shite, you could even start Zaza and go:

Teague
Jenkins
Smoove
Horford
Zaza

ATL gets worse initally but the team was really headed no where in the long run. 3 seed at best and absolutely no way to get better in the next 4 years without doing something that would bury the team.

This saves them.

I think ATL is better without JJ. He is awful. Has so much wasted talent. Much rather play 1-on-1 and settle for worthless jump shots.

He is the next R. Lewis IMO

at least now the team might not go iso for the final 18 seconds every possession

This team wasn't getting to the ECF with Joe
