Hawks didn't get worse, we got some bench depth, and John Jenkins from Vandy. Way to go Ferry!

Yeah, when you think about, Hawks were at best a 3 seed but really had no realistic shot at making the ECF w a JJ ran team. They are still a playoff caliber team with no realistic shot at making the ECF but now have a ton of $ to make a move.

The city would go full Mike Vick if it happened.

don't get too settled with the team as assembled if the deal goes thru. I have a feeling Dealer Danny has some more stuff in the works.

ATL gets worse initally but the team was really headed no where in the long run. 3 seed at best and absolutely no way to get better in the next 4 years without doing something that would bury the team.

This saves them.
Lets just suck and get a lottery pick to get Shabazz or whatever next year and then sign some free agents.

If you don't get one of those top 2 next year you're pretty much fricked.

this deal isn't about draft picks. Ferry's looking to rebuild with established players, most likely thru free agency next summer. he could basically have only Horford and Teague on the books and have room for 2 max guys.

Might as well blow up the team figuratively and kinda start over. Can build a solid core with Teague and Horford

I could see a 3-way trade go down between ATL, LA, and Minnesota

Something like this

LINK

ETA: Probably a pick or 2 going to ATL as well

If I was ATL I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. Insert Williams into 4, would be a solid nucleus
