Saw a thread question about Back to the Future time paradox that was easily explained.

But it recalled a question that no one has ever been able to answer about terminator.

John Conner sends a guy from the future back to the past to stop the terminator from killing is mother, who his not pregnant at the time. As the story moves forward, they stop the terminator and the guy that was sent back gets her pregnant for what will be John Connor.

Doesn't that completely re-write everything about John Connor? He has a different father, so he should look at least a little different and maybe a little older b/c she got pregnant sooner. So it possibly spins off a completely different life for him. But apparently nothing changed when that happened.

anyone....

But if time goes in a loop (only way time travel would be possible i think) than he had the same Father the entire time so nothing changes

ETA finding a hole in a time travel flick is like finding a slut in a whore house

I was excited when Bale took that movie.

Now, I keep thinking about how weird that movie stands out from his recent work.

"You were in what? The FOURTH Terminator?"

I liked Bale since "Empire of the Sun" when he was what, 12?

Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) is my favorite role of his by far.

Back OT,

Jon Conner had to send his father back in time or he'd really be fuct...never born. He knew who his father was and risked everything to save Reese in last Term movie, before he sent him back to protect/ knock up mom.

I don't get your question. Kyle Reese is still johns dad, it isn't some other guy. John knows he must send Kyle back in time so that he is born and complete the loop.

negatory, Kyle Reese is younger than John Conner when he sends him back. So his dad was someone else before the Reese was sent back

Time is only an illusion to humans in the Universe.

We created time to try and measure the rate of change of the Present. But It's always NOW. But it's an ever changing NOW. In a effort to cope with the change, we have invented time.

quote:

We have a deep intuition that the future is open until it becomes present and that the past is fixed. As time flows, this structure of fixed past, immediate present and open future gets carried forward in time. This structure is built into our language, thought and behavior. How we live our lives hangs on it.

But Albert Einstein’s theories of relativity suggest not only that there is no single special present but also that all moments are equally real. Fundamentally, the future is no more open than the past.

Easy explanation, John Connor wasn't always the John Connor we know, he originally had a different dad but began the loop by initiating the Kyle/Sarah interaction, but the only John Connor(s) we have ever known was created by that loop. I would say that Loop initiated "off stage" before T1.
