Accidently hit enter before i was done typing so the title got messed up sorry. Edited. Was mad when I saw the other thread bc I've been wanting to start this thread for days So this will play off of that.

It's three years away from the time they arrived the future. 2015. But it won't be too different then. But obviously there are a ton of things they overshot on. It made for a more intertaining movie though so I ain't mad at em.

So..

1. There is a Miami baseball team. The Cubs won the world series which isn't going to happen. Ever. But they were playing Miami so they got half of the series right.

2. You can have live/video telephone calls now.

Not much else coming to mind.

Ummmm not many I don't think.

-no self strapping up shoes
-no auto fit jackets
-no clothes that dry themselves
-no flying cars
-no hoverboards
-no tiny pizzas that automatically get bigger
-no automatic newspapers that come out immediately (the internet doesn't really count)
-and on that note, no flying cameras that capture news as it happens
-no government controlled weather

some of these things might be in the works or have prototypes but they aren't mainstream like in the movie.

A few things I guess they did get right are:

-talking with someone through your TV (skype, facetime, etc)
-not needing a waiter to order food at a restaurant
-fingerprint recognition to enter buildings
-???? That's really all I can think of

Uhhhhh it's not 2015 yet so you can't really say they "got it half right" since we don't know who will be in the 2015 world series..

Aren't the Cubs and Marlins both in the National League, thus can't meet in the World Series?

Also, aren't we talking about the Cubs here? A WS title in 3 years? Really?

nothing.

wrong:
pizza hut
hover boards
video windows
telephones
cars
clothing
gas prices

i remember reading somewhere that the director was hesitant about depicting a not too distant future because he felt like the film would not hold up. watching it now, he was right. It's ridiculous, though i do still enjoy the film

But do you really think the Cubbies have a chance at winning the World Series from now until 2015? Especially in a sweep against the Marlins which couldn't happen since they're both in the National League.

the simple answer is that the 2015 they went to was an alternate 2015 similar to how the 1985 they went to with Biff in charge

For all we know, the subsequent events of 1885, 1955, and 1985 in BTTF 2 and 3 may have effected the people who made the following inventions into inventing the stuff we have today

I haven't seen Tab in the store for ages...did all the Diet colas make their drink pointless?

And whatever happened to Shasta cola?

They got the public surveillance right...UK has that shite everywhere...filming everything you do on every street and corner.

I didn't mean they actually picked the world series. Marty was surprised there was even a team in Miami more than he was that the cubs won. I just meant that there is actually a Miami baseball team.

We do have TV where you can watch multiple shows at once, though. Got that right.
