Skip to about the 10 minute mark for gameplay. This looks to be EPIC. This game will be free to play. Well, it will at least not cost besides to buy the game. It will be inside of the EVE online universe. Basically, you play as a mercenary and join mercenary groups, and players of EVE online offer contracts to your mercenary group to join forces with them and take over planets. There will be an open beta at the end of this month and this game looks like it has TONS of potential. I can tell you already I'm going to be playing the shite out of it. It will be cross-platform for PCs and PS3.. so a player can play on either one and they can play with each other. That's badass.. if my roommate is watching TV, I can play on my PC. If he's on my PC, I can play on the TV.

I may or may not be in a certain beta for this.

1)So.. so far it blows? I hope they work all of that out, then.
2)This could be true. The PS3 version will be mouse and keyboard compatible though.. so if someone really wanted to, they could hook up their PS3 to a monitor on a desk and play w/a mouse and keyboard.

I find it extremely odd that you have to repurchase gear every single time you die. Seems like that would be frustrating.

I played for a few months and finally earned enough money for a really nice miner vessel and was promptly gate ganked and lost everything. I quit the game immediately and uninstalled it.

I went to Playstation Home last night to get a Beta key and they were out.
Signed up for notifications when the recruiter has more, I thought it looked cool, then I watched a few gameplay videos and it looked like shite.

I played EVE for two years. Game was fun as shite once you could competently fly decent ships. Sometimes though waiting for a fight was really boring...basically an hour of absolutely nothing and then ten minutes of fighting but it made it worth it.
Hopefully Dust will be good too.
What I like about these games is that there is a real penalty for sucking. I.e., you get killed and you have to take the time to get the $$$$ to replace your stuff. Stupidity is punished, and it also made for some great trolling.
The huge universe is pretty sweet too.
