throws out QUALIFIED applications based on age, race, credit score and keywords
This makes no sense as someone submitting a resume for a job wouldnt have their age, race or credit score. LSU cannot pull a credit score on a potential employee without first talking to them that would be a hard inquiry.

Credit Score is never pulled. Background checks are done that include a financial element but not credit score. More so to do with Bankruptcy...but we wouldn't want facts to get in the way of this discussion. And it's only done after they are selected for hire

Head coaches are lazy and base their coaching decisions on recommendations and word of mouth. Most don't even know how to properly read resumes or conduct an interview.
Ummmm bullshite!

I just want to say thanks to the jerk off that couldn't help but bash the OP about his paragraph usage. This site would not be the same without volunteer editors.

regarding your comment about alienating current and potential players. What has CPM done to reach out to former players to help recruit, unite, build, plug in any word you want? I was told the other day not much. True or false?

you do not hire anyone until a background check is completed. At least that is what I know with the HRM I deal with.

Everything claimed here is a generalization, basically, with no hard facts/names to back it up. And the whole line bout HR is pure crap. Not in today's legal world. Nepotism exists, everywhere, so that in of itself is not that big of a deal. Again, name names to make it important or even relevant to your bitch. As for firing coaches, I'll just use CLM as a classy way of handling it. He works it out to where the coach has another job set up for him & then the coach "leaves" on his own. And that process does not take yrs & yrs.

quote:True, but OP mentions credit reports are viewed to screen "potential candidates". That is total bullshite and illegal.

Yeah, I think this person is confusing hiring a secretary at the admin office with hiring assistant coaches as far as the hiring process.
I can't see an assistant coach applying for a position at any major school having to submit online request and hoping they get cleared through the system to have a chance to interview.
Head coaches are not lazy and are damn well aware of who the good assistants are and have a vested interest in getting who they feel are the best. They aren't leaving that up to some BS screening process and some two bit HR person.

To start off, let me say that I'm sorry you got passed over for that job. I know that you were more qualified and not getting it certainly hurt. My condolences on your failure.

Instead LSU continues to hire recycled individuals from universities or other coaching staffs.
Ok genius whow would you want to hire? Perhaps individuals that have no experience. Ok let's just go out into the Mall Of Louisiana and pick the first 11 people we see and give them coaching jobs.
This pretty much invalidates your entire post.
But thanks for posting. You stirred up the conspiratorialists around here. For that we are all better off.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am at LSU everyday in the athletic department and I frequently deal with HR and see this 1st hand. On the LSU application they ask for race, date of birth and SS #. Once again LSU has a computer program that they use to type in how many black, white, hispanic, etc. applications that they want reviewed. The program also allows to pull by age. If you want to see for yourself go and fill out an application on the LSU HR site. Make sure that you pay close attention to all of the questions. The problem with most of you on here that complain is that you are afraid of what you don't understand. Many of you believe that LSU has to follow laws. You people have no idea what you are talking about. Go look up the last time that LSU was successfully sued by someone. Once again head coaches don't sit down and review resumes with their favorite cup of coffee. Don't scream your feelings on here unless you work for LSU.
