Looking at an 18 foot center console but am nervous about the Suzuki on the back. Might be the only brand I have never ridden in front of. Feedback from the experts?

Not an expert but had an older Suzuki 40hp and loved it. Plenty of power

Great motors but a little harder to find certified mechanics from what Ive been told. Wouldnt worry if its not under warranty though. Most mechanics worth a damn can work on all of them.

Any company that makes a good motorcycle engine makes a quality outboard. It's essentially the same set up only difference is the way it's packaged. I have a buddy with a Suzuki on a Carolina Skiff and he's never had any problems.

I really believe the reason you don't see more of them is the lack of mechanics.

I was told the honda 115 weighs more than the 150 because its the same motor they put in honda civics. If so they should run forever.

I been buying Suzki outboard motors from way back in 1984. Blew a few in my time. Would I buy one now? A big YES! Easy motor to repair yourself if you know anything about motors.

What year motor? New or used? Look at the nearest service center and get to know how they treat people along with there service.

Its either a 2006 or 07. I have done bigger than average repairs on a Merc and a Yammy so unless they are way different I should be able to do the basics myself.

I've built my share of outboards and Suzuki is the make I've rebuilt the most! Actually have one on my bench right now torn apart! They're actually pretty good motors! The only down side to them is corrosion protection. Salt water will eat them up faster than any other make I've seen!

Take it fwiw. Just my experience

Just FYI. There's a mercury on the bench right next to it!!

I love mine. I met a crabber who had the same motor and he said it was the bomb, and this cat used the hell out of his.

Ive got 2 df 70's on the back of my boat since 2007. Never had a problem.

Duvics Marine does my work. I also bought the real shop manual so i could change my own impellers and oil, plugs et.

LINK

Thats where i gets my parts from mostly.
