re: 1998 Tacoma brake booster - mechanic advice needed - dragboatscott
If you do have to change it, they're not normally that hard to change. I've never changed one on that model vehicle but it's pretty straightforward. Probably two nuts to remove the master cylinder and 2 more for the booster, which might be on the inside firewall?...

re: 1998 Tacoma brake booster - mechanic advice needed - dragboatscott
Sounds like it could be the booster but check for for vacuum leaks on the line to the booster before you change it or any vacuum leak for that matter. Vacuum is where the assist comes from....

re: Mercury 60 carbs - dragboatscott
Daryl sells carbs and a modified intake, those parts alone make a huge difference in power. The cylinders are so big for a 40 and the way the port map lays out the motor has no issues handling the extra air and fuel, only a timing adjustment is needed....

Don't know Danny. Just know of him. Hate to hear about the bad experience. I have known Daryl and done business with him on those 40 mercury parts for several years and haven't had any problems....

re: yamaha 25 prop - dragboatscott
That's nice to have available. Try em all! In my experience with the tempest, they would pull engine rpm down and lose speed, didn't drive very well either. The trophy drove like a champ and carried a load very well. I quit using thru hub props before the fury came out so I don't know much abo...

re: Reminder to wear PFD- accident on Pearl River shows why - dragboatscott
That's exactly where it happened. The drop is only about 1 foot right now and that's when it's the most dangerous. During normal water levels it's about 4 feet drop but the water is only about hip deep....

re: Reminder to wear PFD- accident on Pearl River shows why - dragboatscott
Story is a little off. It happened at the bogue chitto river sill on the pearl river navigation canal. Terrible thing to see. Most of the accidents there are from people trying to drive over it and that is just not very smart. ...

Thanks for the reply! Hate to see its not lasting for you. I still like that original picture of it. I have also heard it's tough to get a good mount from a catfish. If/when I catch another big one I'll be looking into it in more detail....

re: Choosing to memorialize a hunt with taxidermy. Your opinions... - dragboatscott
I have several mounts all killed/caught by me. Would never mount something I didn't catch or kill. Short hijack: Bleeding purple, I believe this subject was discussed some time ago and I think you posted a picture of a flat head. It was the nicest mounted flat head I ever saw. I catch those fr...

re: Deer processing in the Covington/Folsom area? - dragboatscott
Friends use cutrers in kentwood. I use Fortenberry in crossroads, it's a little drive but WELL worth it. I gave Bruce a try two years ago and will never go there again. I'm not going into details but I was not happy and will not recommend him....

re: Bow Sights? - dragboatscott
I shoot a lot and practice just for that. I'm a one pin guy and shoot an hha. Usually leave at 30 yards and I can hold right on from 0 to 35. If I'm in that situation I know my set up well enough to hold over. The bigger issue to me would be getting the range right. You'd have to be good at rang...

re: catfish traps - dragboatscott
Have a little patience with them. Once they turn dark, pick your spots and let them fish for 3 days during the summer. Whatever fish you catch will probably die after that. I leave mine down for a week during the cool months. Move them around if you don't catch. Once they do make some room in your...
