re: lower unit question - dragboatscott
Yeah if it's spent of life in the saltwater,I retract my easy statement, there's a good chance the mating surfaces are welded together from oxidation. Soak them in some penetrating oil for awhile, that helps sometimes. I have a good friend that ownes a dealership in D'Ibervillle and they have an an...

re: lower unit question - dragboatscott
Make sure ALL of the bolts are out of it before you try to pry on anything. Some models have "hidden" bolts. Some Mercury's have a bolt that come from the top and threads into the anode on the cavitation plate. Make sure the shift shafts is undone as well, again some models are different in how the...

re: Is Louisiana's state-record speckled trout a fraud? - dragboatscott
I talked to Mr. Jerald and he would not confirm or deny any reports or rumors of any larger trout caught in any fashion in Louisiana. We did, however, have a very interesting conversation about this "record" fish though....

re: Hopedale questions... - dragboatscott
Absolutely. I used to fish all the way out to lake Eugene in a 14' flat with a 40. You shouldn't have trouble finding redfin out there. I usually fish between stump lagoon and lake Eugene and always find redfish. Trout are different animal back there though. ...

re: Reputable Wooden Fence Installer - Covington Area - dragboatscott
I never build them with less than 3. I just did an estimate for a big repair on a "reputable" fence builders fence yesterday, only had 2 perlings and they were nailed to the posts. Damn thing wasn't that old and was falling down. If you do it yourself please use 3 2x4x16 perlings and 3 1/2" screw...

Scott Renovations. I do them often and the other poster is right. Easy to do yourself and if you look around in the covington/mandeville area prices are going to start around $15 per foot. I normally do them for $14...

re: LA Slat Trap Regulations- Where are they? - dragboatscott
I'm not sure where they are. I build mine with 1 1/2" gaps on the sides. I believe the law says they can be no smaller than 1". There's also places you can't use them so you might want to look into that as well....

re: Rage Hypodermic Broadhead Reviews - dragboatscott
I can't speak for the hypodermic but I've been shooting the old rage titanium 2 blades for years. I just put new blades and go. I've killed dozens of deer and hogs with the same 3 broadheads. I looked at the hypodermic but I really don't like the blade angle when deployed. I don't think it's swept b...

Pheasant in Louisiana? - dragboatscott
I'm doing some work in the middle of Tangipahoa parish, not TOO far from covey rise and I keep hearing what I think are pheasants down the hill from where I'm working. I've never known of a population of wild pheasant in this area. Does covey rise have those, maybe some escapees? I think wickowick ...
