The bad news is we might not get that far in ths tournament.....the good news is no matter what happens tomorrow we live to play another day.

Scoring runs keep you playing.

we win tomorrow vs Ole Miss with Gausman. Get State probably again vs. Eades and we win there. Play UK with McCune on the hill and see what happens.

Gausman can pitch, Eades can pitch.
It is not like the Regionals begin next Monday. The games start next Friday, they will have more than enough rest. No need to not pitch them tomorrow or Friday. If anything, they need to pitch over the next two days and not after that.

Yes losing 4 series is kind of bad, but if you notice our overall record is comparable to all of the other top teams.

Agreed Josh, let him throw 4-5 & make sure he's ready for next Saturday.
Super regionals locked up.

eh sort of. Ole Miss shared with us in 2009, but only LSU and Florida received national seeds in the tournament

Yea but the way it looks now we could have went Nola, Gausman, and Eades and if we win all three of those we are sitting in the championship game where I feel confident our Johnny All Staff is better than anything anyone has left maybe outside of USCe......instead we go Johnny All Staff against Stratton and competed well (I expected much worse) but I think we could have let Nola go 5-6 today and been pretty good off.....especially if you are going to start Nola in Game 1 of the regional.
Of course this is all hindsight and Maineri would have been a genius if we could have got a few more hit today.

Yeah. I said I'd be a little worried if we were co-champs.

The NCAA has just enough tact (notice I didn't say integrity) to not frick over the outright SEC champ.

hmm... I think we see:
Gausman
Eades
McCune (or someone that pitched today)
Nola (should we reach Sunday)

Why risk it though? Especially since he pitched Saturday.

I'm glad to see this thread get right by the second page. The first page with the exception of a few are full of a whole lot of fail.
Where the frick are some of these people coming from? Damn.

Undisputed SEC champs goes a long way. I could maybe see us gettig shafted had we split the reg. season championship w/ someone & then going 0-2.
I also understand everyone is wary after last year, I'm not losing any sleep. Gausman & co. will lock it down for us tomorrow.
Anyone know who we're facing? I'm guessing we see RJ Hively, that big boy that came in relief & shut us down fr awhile?

agree with this. i think we'd go cotton instead of mccune, but he'd only pitch 4 innings or so. mccune has been getting hit too hard to start him at this point in the season imo

No way you throw Nola for a full outing today after he just started a game Friday. This game wasn't that important. We still need 4 wins and still have our top 3 starters available.
Posted on 5/23/12 at 4:04 pm to Honkus
People don't remember how shitty Georgia played down the stretch in 2008 and still got a national seed because they won the SEC.

we didn't make the SECT last year. its a sign that the committee was more concerned about our SEC record then our RPI rank, we will be top 10 RPI and be SEC champs outright committee won't screw us.
