That's awesome. CSB for sure.

What I remember most in the early 60's was the stench from the bathrooms on Sunday morning. Guys got drunk on the cheapest stuff available and threw up in bathrooms. Thunderbird was absolutely the worst.

And don't forget having real bb guns or small caliber rifles (.22) in elementary school and being able to play outside until after dark.
We were in the middle of the adolescent male BB/.22 arms race, using .177 & .22 pellet guns for range wars with neighbor kids we didn't like...but didn't really know why. The more you pumped, the better the pop.
While on the subject, as kids some of us were able to take long car trips sleeping up on the shelf behind the sedan back seats...after all, we weren't too good to go through the windshield on impact like the rest of the family!

I lived in the stadium for 12 consecutive semesters starting in 1976. College and grad school. (It's the reason for my screen name). I lived in 501 East Stadium for 10 of those. I loved the experience, although no AC and climbing 4 floors of steps was inconvenient. Cheap and accessible to the campus. My room was built for 3 people, but they had taken out the extra beds, so I had a lot of room and storage space.
The visiting teams used to enter the stadium right below my window. On Friday nights, if I was home, I'd tigerbait the hell out of them as they entered for their stadium walk around. Sometimes I'd see the coach point up at me and I can just imagine him telling his team to be ready, because there'd be 70,000 more fans loud just like me for the game.
Cool story bro. My grandfather lived in the dorms in TS in the late 1930s before WWII.

Couple more stories. . .
(1) My dad stayed in the stadium dorms when he played in the high school football all star game in 1937 or 38.
(2) When I lived there, there was a guy down the hall dealing hashish. He traded a bunch of the stuff for 2 humongous speakers. These suckers were so big, a homeless guy could live in them and think he had a mansion. If he just turned his amp up to 2 watts, it would sound like Woodstock.
Everybody was pissed, until we realized the circuit breaker was in our end of the hall and he lived in the middle. It only took 2 flips of the breaker to get him to tone it down. Later, he got kicked out of school for a gun violation. As a side note, his brother somehow turned up with the pool of questions that my management exams came from.
(3) We also had a gay guy on our end that liked to sing along, at the top of his lungs, to Dolly Parton music. He would camp out in the bathrooms when some of us would take our showers. Remember, there were no shower curtains or bathroom stalls and he could watch in the mirror.
(4) Lastly, I broke into the door at the end of the hall that the janitors used. I couldn't believe it, but there was a ladder that connected the floors all the way down to the first floor. Was useful for a private place to smoke. We also found a nice board for us to play cards on.
