Might be decent, but it looks like they went a bit too far with the premise of what all losing power would take out. Not all people are going to suddenly lose all their glocks, revolvers, and rifles and have to go back to bows and flintlocks. I doesn't require electricity to make bullets.
first thing I thought... I was like damn it was ONLY 15 years and we're regressing back to the bronze age Main chick looks to be a weaker/uninteresting major character. Will not watch until end of first season on DVD although I doubt it survives that long on NBC.

It almost looks like a newer version of Jericho, which I am 100% down with.
My sentiments exactly. And it looks like the cubs were world series champs in 2012 (presumbably becuase of all the day games they flourished) so i'm down with that aspect of this show.

Love the premise but am extremely concerned that NBC will frick it up or not let it run its proper course. The lack of guns is perplexing.. Maybe thats why they choose 15 years.. The trailer seemed to indicate that not many people are still around relatively speaking. I guess its possible that the Warlords and battling factions simply destroyed or wasted the guns and ammo but highly doubtful. For the premise to work..this will need to be explained early on..IMO

With Abrams in charge the blackout would probably remain a big McGuffin for several seasons then wind up being completely retarded.
You do realize that most Bad Robot writing has gone away from this type of concept.. right? Fringe answered the "big" question by the end of season 1, Person of Interest is more about giving you answers than asking them.. and I know Kripke is all about answers as well. :prays: "In Bad Robot I trust" :/pray: P.S: as a side note, I hated lost, and never watched it. ETA: I'm sure pretty early on in the show, if not in the opening 30 minutes we get an Abrams or Kripke explanation for not many guns... don't even know how I'm carrying this conversation on since the show isn't even out!

I've never watched Fringe or POI, I was going more by Abrams early shows and his movies, which were big on WTF with latecoming, nonexistant and/or shoddy answers. Outside of the Star Trek reboot I haven't watched anything Abrams has touched that I have liked. Kripke would be the guy that would have me interested in watching the show, as Supernatural was fairly tightly done under his watch, with a good history and a solid foundation for the world.

I am in this one as well. Did extra work as a Marine during the filming at stone mountain a little over a month ago.. My prediction is that this one will last about as long as V did a couple years ago.. Maybe a season and a half... But def not much more...

His movies are allowed to do that, I think he learned his lessons with TV in that the American public isn't willing to wait 4 years for answers.

In a serialized show such as Lost, I don't consider myself to have "watched" it unless I actually made it through "lengths" of episodes. I watched the first 5-6 episodes.. a few more episodes from season one, and off and on episodes up until season 4, but never once did I actually think, "Wow, this is a great show and I really want to watch it from start to finish." In fact I always had the exact opposite thought of, "this show is really slow, really boring, and there is no way in heck I'm wasting hours of my life on a show that's going to end up being a disappointment in the end." Considering what all my friends said after it was over, I'm pretty confident in saying I saved myself many hours.

It kinda looks like a Falling Skies without the alien robots and all (so far). LINK I will check it out.

I watched some of the previews, it seems interesting, I'll probably DVR it. The swords, bow and arrow, and muzzle loader did seem confusing. I think guns would still be fairly prevalent. Also, steam powered cars and ships would make a comeback if this happened. If all forms of mechanical energy ceased, it makes me think that an alien race put some sort of ju-ju on the planet.

Maybe a little and that isn't a good thing. If they stay away from the overly sappy, tear-jerking story lines, the show might be good. Otherwise it will quickly waste away.
