re: Official Diablo 3 Player Information Thread

Are prices already set by blizzard or do players get to set them?

re: Official Diablo 3 Player Information Thread

From what I've read...
Player plays Diablo 3
Player finds super rare item
Player puts rare item on auction house
People bid with real money to buy the item

I don't think there will be a "shop" To just buy anything...prices will be set by supply and demand. If only 1 of the best weapon ever exists on a server....it will fetch top dollar.

There will probably be items... 1 in 1 million droprate on only inferno level monsters...crazy shite like that. The prices will blow us away I feel...

I think you missed my point. If someone wants to spend their money on that stuff, cool whatever, I just hate that Blizzard gives them that ability.

I've decided that I want to go Monk. And probably will just deal with the rl money auctionhouse and play on regular, not hardcore. I always die a million times in diablo

I alt-f4d all the time on Diablo II to avoid death

Doubt the ability exists in d3..maybe.

Hardcore is the shite though just play with friends, play smart, balance your party, spec defensively... Its great

No doubt. I would often watch my roommate get ridiculous things by trading simple stuff and random runes. I try the same thing just hours later and no dice.

Trading in D2 was like an art form. Almost a full time job to monitor the value of everything and determine the price.

This is the part of games like this I just can't get in to. I'm playing FF14 right now, and as fun as the battle classes are, I just don't have the time or patience to deal with grinding out a side craft. I have to play these casually or I'll get burned out quick.

Meh. People are going to buy the shite anyway through ebay or whatever. Blizzard is just keeping the process in house so you don't have to go through shady means to get it (and also so they can take a cut of it).

Yeah I know, I made a good bit of spending money when I was in HS doing loot runs in D2:LOD, but I'm upset about the 15% thing a little. I'm fine with the 1 or 2 dollar surcharge, but 15% is absurd IMO.

I decided to go normal mode. I die way too much to play hardcore. I think I can deal with rich spoiled kids getting gear easier than I.

re: Official Diablo 3 Player Information Thread

I've been debating it. I have work tomorrow so I need to get SOME sleep. Might try and get to bed early, set my alarm for 2AM and play until I have to go to work.

However, if the servers are going to be jammed and signing on next to impossible, I wonder if I'll be wasting my time.

re: Official Diablo 3 Player Information Thread

And on a side note of the real money auction house: How long do you think it'll take to start seeing decent items for sale? I'm not spending real money on the game (other than my $60) but since it's an entirely player driven economy, the good stuff won't be for sale for a while. Need to have players get to level 60 and do inferno runs before anything $$$ pops up on the auction house I would believe.

I'm gonna imagine there will be people who literally don't sleep and get to lvl 60 in a week or two, just so they get server first high ilvl unique to sell.

So.. By june
