Someone posted earlier to now turn the old dorm rooms into hotel rooms for game day. Now that would be a creative idea. There has to be some revenue generating concept that TAF can market very effectively as experiencing living space on such "hallowed grounds". Those old dorms brings back some very fond memories...except for the brutal August and September heat without air conditioning.

1 frick turf
isn't there a study that says that knee injuries are more common on turf? and I like the way grass looks a lot more than turf.
2 I like that we are resurfacing the stadium, I just wish it wasn't so dark. Maybe it'll fade in the sun?

In the 80s and early 90's I had an office and lab in west side of stadium - to be frank it was a sh**te hole. Cold as hell in winter (heat came on about 4 days after cold front) and hot in summer w window bangers. Roaches rats etc. It was a happy day when I got out of there so I am gald they are fizing it up. If they want to turn it into condos etc it would take a truckload of $ not even sure TAF could raise enough. Has anyone been inside the old dorms or are they only fixing up the outside. Its overdue and glad they did it. I was back last fall for the first time in 6 yrs and teh stadium looked alot better than I remember - hell the 1st major improvemnet was getting rid of Curly

Not the expansion, just some concrete repair, bleacher replacement, and guardrail (fencing) repair. I'm not sure if they are gonna paint the entire exterior around the East and South as well but they might.

The inside of the north end of the stadium looks like Kosovo. It really is awful. It would take quite a bit of work to make it habitable. Abatement isn't even the biggest deal breaker. It would take a lot of money to make that space compliant with today's building codes. With 8' ceilings, A/C would be a chore as well.

and yet the turf is still a sore subject. I'm all for the synthetic surface at some point.
Been great the last 2 years.

frick artificial turf.
Unless the weather dictates otherwise, all football should be played on grass IMO. It's easier to maintain and hit golf balls off of turf, why don't they turn golf courses into fake shite? Soccer as well.
There is something precious in a tradition. These players play on the same surface as Cannon and Casanova.

Those windows really made a huge difference. I remember when they presented the concept and everyone was bitching about how much it cost... for windows!!!1!!1

I keep going back and taking a peek at these pictures, and I'm just blown away how good the north end now looks with the new windows + black fences in arches + refinishing.

It looks great.
I will miss the look on the faces of the fans of visiting teams when they first saw the old haunted medieval- looking building, though.
The new finish and windows look amazing, though. It brings out the iconic architecture of the old stadium.
