I've known several ppl to get hurt badly down there and just missed seeing a guy get run over by another speed boat once many years ago. Alcohol was involved in ALL incidents.

The po po were out in force too. One of my friends had a guy on his boat jump into another boat because they were all too drunk to drive and WLF got the new DD for DWI. And the driver of the boat that was following them as well.

The designated driver was drunk? I think he was doing it wrong.

No kidding. Apparently, their on the river sobriety tests made them believe he was less impaired than anyone on their boat. I think this would fall into the epic fail category.

Heard about this through a friend. Such a tragedy. Prayers sent.

I was thrown from a bass boat one time, I was riding on the swivel seat in front of the motor and we caught some wake. Next thing I know I am in the water. Luckily I missed the motor and barely scrapped my ankle on the cleat and lucky it was a slow weekend on the tickfaw river.

This. My dad made sure of it and I was scared to death of his wrath. Sad story.

Taylor jumped out while they were hauling arse out into the lake and he never resurfaced

We had a young dude on our boat Saturday attempt to do the same thing when we were crossing Lake Maurepas coming back from Madisonville. Apparently he does this all the time and thinks it's funny and cool. Hopefully this incident will having some affect on any future attempts.
Crazy to think how quick that could have been our crew because of his dumbass!!

I did my share of dumbass things but jumping out of a boat at speed is a little extreme.

Feel bad for the family

I was at Heberts Marina at Big Lake a couple of years ago and watched a drunk guy do this when they were coming in with a guide. Guide was pissed. He just bailed out and started laughing his arse off. They were still on plane and moving pretty good.

I've done it a couple of times back in the day. Have to know how to hit the water though it's still not a smart thing to do.

I know a guy who would routinely do this while fishing in the river.

If you hit the water wrong, u can easily get the wind knocked out of you and then drown,,,pretty quickly..

And if the water is murky and you are a little disoriented it is very easy to swim innthe wrong direction....panic and then drown...,
